Now, we have a sad update to bring you.

The woman that was stabbed in the horrific attack has passed away.

She has been identified as 32-year-old Erin Piacent, who was employed as a top executive at Bank of America in New York City.

In addition, she had just celebrated her second wedding anniversary last month.

The New York Post provided details on her background:

Piacenti was employed by Bank of America in New York City, working as the Vice President of Business Selection and Conflicts, sources told The Post.

She was a 2016 graduate from the University of Pennsylvania and 2021 graduate of Fordham Law School, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The successful career woman had also just celebrated her second wedding anniversary on Aug. 10, according to social media posts.

Erin Piacenti, 32, was walking through Times Square when Pamela Cisneros suddenly attacked her with a knife. Police say there’s no evidence Erin was hunted or specifically targeted. It appears to have been random and unprovoked.

Seconds earlier, Cisneros had stabbed a 68-year-old man in the abdomen.

Officers confronted her, ordered her to drop two knives and tried Tasers. Police say she threatened to kill them and kept advancing. Officers opened fire.

Erin later died at the hospital.

A normal day. A random encounter. A life gone in seconds.

That’s what makes this so horrifying.
So it's transpired that the lady murdered in Times Square yesterday was the Bank of America vice president, Erin Piacenti.

Surely not random? https://t.co/qDl57b8Udb pic.twitter.com/5uD11Cy6Fl

What a tragic loss of life.

Reuters shared a statement from Bank of America on Piacenti’s death:

“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. She was a valued teammate who will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to her family and all of her loved ones,” the U.S. banking giant said in an emailed statement to Reuters on Tuesday.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said on Monday in a press briefing that a woman carrying multiple knives stabbed two people in Times Square before police used a Taser and fired their weapons.

BofA’s Manhattan office is located a stone’s throw from Times Square at One Bryant Park. The bank also ‌has other locations across New York City, the heartbeat of the American financial system.

The unhinged woman who stabbed Erin Piacenti to death and wounded an unnamed 68-year-old man has also been identified as 39-year-old Pamela Cisneros.

After being shot by officers, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

ABC 7 New York reported further:

Police say 32-year-old Erin Piacenti died at the hospital. The other victim, a 68-year-old man, is hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The NYPD said they were stabbed in a “random and unprovoked” attack by 39-year-old Pamela Cisneros of Queens.

According to investigators, Cisneros was threatening people with two knives near West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue around 4:26 p.m. on Wednesday and stabbed the male victim and Piacenti.

She then fled north toward the NYPD substation in Times Square, where officers confronted her, police said. Cisneros refused to drop the knives when officers approached, according to police.

Officers fired striking her, police said.

Two knives were recovered from the scene, according to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch. The NYPD also released a photo of the recovered weapons.

The first victim, the 68-year-old man, had just exited the subway and was waiting to cross the street with his wife when the suspect pulled the knives from a bag, waved them and then allegedly stabbed him in the abdomen “in what appears to be a random and unprovoked attack,” Tisch said at a press briefing.

The suspect then went up Seventh Avenue toward 42nd Street, where she approached the second victim, Piacenti, who was similarly stabbed in the abdomen in an apparently random, unprovoked attack, Tisch said.

The suspect allegedly then fled north toward the NYPD substation, authorities said. Witnesses flagged down officers who confronted her for four minutes and “gave her numerous commands to drop the knife,” which she refused, Tisch said.

“During the encounter, she told the officers, ‘I’m not dropping anything. I would rather kill both of you.’ She repeated, ‘I will kill you,'” Tisch said.

Please keep Erin’s husband and family in your prayers during this unimaginable time of grief and loss.
