It appears Democrat Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed does not like to be asked about the Muslim brotherhood.

Fox News Bret Baier found that out fast!

On Friday, Fox News’ Bret Baier interviewed Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

The interviewed started off normal until Baier asked El-Sayed about his prior posts on X that appears to show the Senate candidate sympathetic towards the Muslim Brotherhood.

In response to the question, El-Sayed clearly irritated said “No, no, no…”

Fox News covered the heated moment:

Michigan Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed accused Republican rival Mike Rogers of questioning his loyalty to the United States during a heated Fox News interview Friday, while Rogers doubled down on allegations that his opponent has embraced the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The candidates both spoke separately with Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier on “Special Report” in Detroit, 11 days before the Nov. 3 election.

Baier pressed El-Sayed about a 2012 statement involving former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, who was affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

“No, no, no, let me just stop there,” El-Sayed interrupted. “You are asking this question to raise a question about whether or not I have dual loyalties.”

Baier explained he was asking about allegations raised by Rogers’ campaign.

“I will be loyal to the Constitution of the United States,” El-Sayed said.

“Don’t be Rogers’ campaign,” he continued.

“I’m asking a question,” Baier replied.

“Be a journalist,” El-Sayed shot back.

“I am,” Baier responded.

The Hill did a deep dive on El-Sayed’s prior posts that indicates he has supported the Muslim Brotherhood’s efforts:

Senate Republicans are making a late-stage effort to save former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) in the Michigan Senate race by pouring money and effort into highlighting what they say are significant ties between Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed and the Muslim Brotherhood.

El-Sayed vigorously denies that he has any ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group that is viewed as an influential predecessor to some prominent fundamentalist Islamic groups. Congress has investigated the Muslim Brotherhood as a potential global threat.
But the issue is not so simple, as Republicans have dug up past statements by El-Sayed they say are sympathetic to the Islamist movement that briefly took over Egypt in 2012 and 2013.

In an essay published on HuffPost in January 2011, El-Sayed argued that if the Muslim Brotherhood were to take power in Egypt after the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak, the result wouldn’t be as bad as some critics feared.

He argued the military wouldn’t back the group’s leadership bid unless “strong liberal democratic structures were in place” and dismissed comparisons warning the Muslim Brotherhood taking control of Egypt would be akin to Hamas’s leadership in Gaza.

Republicans are also pointing to a statement El-Sayed signed in 2012 after Islamist leader Mohamed Morsi gained power in Egypt, urging him “to purge the media and police as quickly as possible.”

“We affirm, as Egyptian Americans, that we strongly reject those voices that are courting America and Europe to take a position against the Egyptian regime,” the letter’s signatories declared.

His support for the letter was first reported last month by The Washington Free Beacon.

El-Sayed has now been thrust into the awkward position of having to defend years-old social media posts from his half-sister claiming their family has long had ties to “MB,” referring to the Muslim Brotherhood. She also said that some relatives had been jailed in Egypt because of activism in the group.
It is truly mind boggling that the mother of Abdul El-Sayed, the leading candidate for Senate in Michigan, raised money for Osama bin Laden.

Also, his father was in the Muslim Brotherhood and sister was on the terror watch list.

I mean, what the **** are you doing, Michigan? https://t.co/gZKRh5pqDi
