State Department press adviser Britt McHenry has reportedly resigned from her role in the Trump administration after a video of an altercation between her and another fan at a Washington, D.C., basketball game went viral on social media.
A video of McHenry at a Washington Wizards game blew up on social media this week, as it depicted her dumping a drink on a fan and leaving the section while blowing kisses toward the people who were seated around her. TMZ obtained the video and shared it on X Thursday. It has received over 10 million views.
McHenry, a former ESPN and Fox News analyst, posted in early September that she had recently begun her role as a press adviser under Secretary of State Marco Rubio. She traveled with Rubio and the State Department communications team to the U.N. General Assembly in New York in her first month on the job.
According to Page Six, which broke the news of McHenry’s resignation, McHenry’s altercation began when a man in the crowd began heckling Milwaukee Bucks player Kyle Kuzma, who is dating model Winnie Harlow. The outlet, citing an anonymous source, said the man was saying “terrible” things about Harlow, which caused McHenry to tell the heckler to “ease up.”
The outlet reported that Britt was “forced to resign.”
