Fox Sports analyst and U.S. soccer legend Carli Lloyd has welcomed her second child after a years-long fertility struggle that included two unsuccessful rounds of IVF.
Lloyd, 44, announced that she and husband Brian Hollins welcomed a baby boy named Hunter Jax on Thursday.
The newborn weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long, according to a hospital sign shown in photos Lloyd shared on Instagram.
Hunter joins the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Harper Anne.
“Our hearts have never been fuller.
Lloyd said the delivery was difficult but expressed gratitude for the medical team that helped her through the pregnancy and birth.
“It wasn’t the easiest delivery, which makes us even more grateful for the best team of Doctors, nurses, and everyone else who took such amazing care of us throughout this pregnancy.
“Now we’re home, soaking in all the newborn snuggles and adjusting to life as a family of four — especially with our 2-year-old learning her new role as big sister.
“These days are a little crazy, a little sleepless, but incredibly special. We’re feeling beyond grateful to have our baby boy here, safe and loved, and to watch our family grow. Welcome to the family, little man. We love you more than words can say.
The joyful announcement comes after Lloyd previously opened up about a difficult road to motherhood.
Before becoming pregnant with Harper in 2024, Lloyd went through two unsuccessful IVF rounds as she and Hollins struggled to start a family.
The former U.S. Women’s National Team star has spoken publicly about the emotional toll of infertility and the uncertainty that came with repeated treatment.
Her second pregnancy was announced in April, and Lloyd continued working throughout much of it, including serving as a Fox Sports analyst during the FIFA World Cup this summer.
Lloyd and Hollins, who were high school sweethearts, married in 2016.
Long before becoming a familiar face on Fox’s soccer coverage, Lloyd built one of the most decorated careers in American soccer history.
She won two World Cups and two Olympic gold medals with the U.S. Women’s National Team and was twice named FIFA Player of the Year.
Lloyd retired from professional soccer in 2021 following a 22-year playing career.
She appeared in 316 matches for the United States and scored 134 international goals, the third-highest total in USWNT history.
Now, after years of fertility challenges and an admittedly difficult delivery, Lloyd and Hollins are settling into life as a family of four with their newborn son safely at home.
