KENWOOD, Ohio — Vice President JD Vance announced Wednesday that the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud had identified $40 million in SNAP fraud and charged 40 people for their alleged schemes.

“That is one of the most important and sacred things that our tax dollars go to, making sure that our fellow citizens don’t go hungry at night,” Vance said at the Cincinnati FBI Field Office in Kenwood, Ohio. “Unfortunately, like with so many of these other amazing programs, we find that there are people out there who decide to commit fraud against these programs, who, quite literally, in this case, will steal from the mouths of hungry children in order to enrich themselves.”

The task force has announced it has found more than $641 million in SNAP fraud since its inception last year.

The announcement comes after President Donald Trump launched the White House Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program from the Oval Office earlier this week.

As part of that program, people who are found to have accurately tipped the federal government off to allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse will be awarded a 1% commission on the total amount of fraud.

But it’ll be a binding arbitration. You’ll get your money immediately, but I’ll make the determination.”

Vance’s appearance on Wednesday is part of a two-stop swing of his home state of Ohio, with a rally planned for the afternoon at Sharonville Convention Center in Cincinnati.
