Joe Biden’s COVID czar, Anthony Fauci, now is under state investigation.
That’s just one result that already has developed following his testimony to a Senate committee Wednesday where he demanded his right to be silent under the 5th Amendment dozens of times and simply refused to say anything.
Whether that 5th Amendment claim will stand remains to be seen, as he was covered for the time period being questioned by a pardon from Biden, and Supreme Court precedent has suggested that one no longer can make a 5th Amendment claim under those circumstances.
And leaders in the Senate already have planned for a vote that would find Fauci in contempt.
In the meantime, the state investigation has been launched.
It is Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier who confirmed, following Fauci’s decision not to answer questions in Congress, a state investigation.
Reports say Fauci actually demanded the 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination 111 times during the hearing.
“Fauci’s lack of candor to Congress is unbelievable,” Uthmeier explained. “My office is launching an investigation into Dr. Fauci. It’s past time we get the truth of what happened during COVID.”

According to a report at Just the News, “Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, invoked the 5th Amendment a total of 111 times on Wednesday, during testimony before the Senate Homeland Security Committee.”
The report noted many lawmakers questioned whether Joe Biden’s sweeping pardon of Fauci had voided his right to refuse to testify.
For example, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., cited Brown vs. Walker at the Supreme Court, a ruling that appears to void Fauci’s claim for protection.
A vote on a contempt citation for Fauci is pending in Congress.
