An illegal immigrant was arrested for exposing himself in public while claiming to be campaigning for Pennsylvania Democrat Janelle Stelson. Though Stelson denied the immigrant’s employment, new police records show he was in possession of campaign materials and claimed to work for her.

Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe, a 35-year-old Nigerian man, was caught “wearing nothing but a shirt.” According to the arresting officer’s statement, “his genitals were exposed” while sitting in his car in a residential area waiting to hand out flyers for Stelson, who was running against Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa.

“Igbojekwe advised that he was in the neighborhood for work and that he was waiting to hand out flyers for Janelle Stelson’s political campaign. Igbojekwe was able to provide a stack of flyers showing he was there for work,” reads the Affidavit of Probable Cause from the arresting officer, Trevor J. Jeffers.

Following Igbojekwe’s arrest and conviction, Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested him.

Stelson has denied employing the illegal immigrant. Her campaign manager, Alma Baker, issued a statement claiming reports of the arrest were inaccurate.

“This individual is not and has never been employed by the Janelle Stelson campaign. If he is an illegal immigrant who committed a crime he should be deported. We never heard of him prior to the news of his arrest. We are grateful to law enforcement for acting swiftly to arrest him,” the statement read.

Here's the criminal complaint stating that Igbojekwe had Stelson literature at the time of his arrest and nothing stating that Igbojekwe worked for the campaign.

According to the affidavit, “Igbojekwe did not understand why it was an issue for him to have his genitals exposed while parked in a residential neighborhood.”

Igbojekwe was arrested Sept. 27 and charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. On Sept. 30, the indecent exposure charge was dropped, and he pleaded guilty to a third-degree misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. On Oct. 1, Igbojekwe was arrested by immigration officials.

Despite the Stelson campaign’s denial of having hired Igbojekwe, reactions to the report have been vocal.

“It’s unbelievable that Janelle Stelson would employ an illegal alien to work on a Congressional campaign, let alone a pervert who exposed himself in public,” ICE Deputy Director Charles Wall said.

“Every single day, the men and women of DHS [Department of Homeland Security] are working hard to target and remove dangerous illegal aliens like this sicko from our communities. The Trump administration will always put the safety of the American people first,” Wall continued.

Allison Weisenberger, executive director of the Freedom Caucus Fund, told the Daily Signal in a statement, “No one should be surprised the Democrats are paying illegal aliens from Nigeria to walk door-to-door in Pennsylvania neighborhoods to support Janelle Stelson.”

“Democrats flooded our country with millions of illegal aliens during the Biden years. They want to do it again. Stelson and [House Minority Leader] Hakeem Jeffries want the borders ripped back open and tax hikes on all Pennsylvanians to pay for welfare, housing, and health care for illegal aliens,” the statement from Weisenberger continued.

According to a DHS spokesperson, President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration caused more than 3 million illegal aliens to leave the United States in the first year of his presidency, including an estimated 2.2 million self-deportations.

“As of Sept. 7, we have now deported nearly 1.1 million illegal aliens and arrested over 1.1 million illegal aliens,” the DHS spokesperson said.

The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to the Daily Signal’s request for comment on Igbojekwe’s deportation status.
