Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the oldest sitting U.S. senator, has filed paperwork for re-election in 2028.
Grassley is 93.
If re-elected, he would be 101 by the end of his term in 2034.
Townhall has more:
Grassley recently said he doesn’t want a Democratic governor choosing his successor if he dies in office.
“One of the reasons that I’m worried about who’s going to be elected governor, I don’t plan on dying in office but if I did, I don’t want a Democrat governor choosing my successor,” he said.
