Alaska’s governor, Mike Dunleavy, stunningly has ordered an investigation into a apparent Democrat scheme to influence the state’s vote for a representative in the U.S. Senate by recruiting and pushing the candidacy of an unknown with the same name as the Republican incumbent, Dan Sullivan.

Dunleavy announced, “Today’s New York Times reporting reveals disturbing new evidence of an organized effort to manipulate Alaska’s elections by recruiting candidates—including one with the same name as an incumbent U.S. Senator—to deliberately confuse voters and misdirect their votes.”

He continued, “The Alaska Division of Elections investigated these very concerns in June of this year. The new reporting substantially supports the Division’s findings. I am therefore directing the Department of Public Safety to investigate whether this scheme violated Alaska’s laws and whether criminal charges or civil action are warranted. The evidence will determine what happens next. Alaskans have a fundamental right to vote for the candidate they actually intend to support.

“Deliberately tricking voters into casting their ballots for someone else strikes at the integrity of our elections. Anyone or any organization found to have broken the law must be held accountable.”

The Democrat running for office, and whose campaign staff members apparently have been linked to the agenda to recruit the second Dan Sullivan, is Mary Peltola.

Dunleavy, a Republican, confirmed civil penalties or criminal charges would be reviewed.

President Donald Trump called for Peltola to be thrown from the ballot and prosecuted, citing the apparent “perjury” involved from her campaign officials.

He described it as “voter fraud at the highest level.”

Reports now are identifying the second Dan Sullivan as “Decoy Dan.”

Peltola supporters allegedly tapped the retiree, who was recruited because of his name.

Both Sullivans appear on the ballot, along with Peltola and a fourth candidate. The Department of Justice already has asked that the confirmation of the vote be delayed pending a review of the allegedly criminal actions.

The DOJ alleges Daniel J. Sullivan, the “decoy,” who says he backed Democrats in the last three presidential elections and voted for Peltola in her 2022 and 2024 House races, of trying to fool Alaskans into thinking he is the senator.

Judge Sharon Gleason of the U.S. District Court in Alaska has put the case on a fast track, giving federal lawyers until Thursday afternoon to answer a motion to dismiss.

Peltola claims it’s all a distraction.

Trump’s call was for consequences.

In a social media statement, he said, “It has just been determined that the Democrats in Alaska illegally searched for, and recruited, a man named Dan Sullivan to run against our distinguished Republican Senator, Dan Sullivan, in order to defraud, confuse, and obfuscate the Election, thereby taking votes away from the REAL Senator, San Sullivan.”

He said, “The New York Times reports that, ‘Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska’s Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run – as well as other candidates.”

Trump pointed out, “The Democrats false statements were made under oath in federal court. Therefore they perjured themselves, and should be liable for very serious consequences.”

BREAKING: President Trump calls for Democrat operatives to be hit with PERJURY CHARGES after they LIED in federal court, saying they were NOT involved in recruiting a decoy Dan Sullivan on the Alaska ballot Trump also said the Democrat candidate, Mary Peltola, should be REMOVED from the ballot for this scheme: “They perjured themselves, and should be liable for very serious consequences. Mary Peltola should suffer the Legal and Political consequences for what she has done, A FRAUD ON THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, and Dan Sullivan should be allowed to run without either Mary Peltola or FAKE Dan Sullivan on the Ballot.”

WND also reported that the Times charged that former Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola’s campaign reportedly plotted the sabotage of the incumbent Sullivan’s campaign.

The report said, “Peltola’s team actively searched for other Dan Sullivans to be on the ballot in November to boost the Democrat’s chances of winning … An operative introduced by aides from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee made secret trips to Alaskan communities while using a fake name and pitched his idea to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.”
