President Donald Trump on Monday upped the stakes in the fight against voter fraud, as the commander in chief announced a reward of $1 million to anyone who reports election cheating that leads to to an arrest and conviction.
On Truth Social, Trump stated: “Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
He also told reporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland: “I’m also going to be issuing a million dollar bonus or reward or whatever you want to call it for anybody that reports voter fraud, leading to the arrest and conviction of somebody.”
“We give you, that person, a million dollars,” he continued while standing near Air Force One.

“Amazing idea,” said journalist Eric Daugherty. “Trump just deputized the entire nation. Fraudsters are livid tonight!”
The New York Post noted: “Voter fraud charges are relatively rare, but the Justice Department has announced dozens of cases against non-citizens who allegedly registered to vote or cast ballots illegally – with 48 such indictments unveiled Monday, and 16 others made public Oct. 12.”
The offer of the large reward comes after the U.S. Department of Justice told counties of its plans to monitor elections with 1,000 observers being deployed across America during the midterms next month.
“The Civil Rights Division conducts monitoring of polling places on election day using federal observers, and as well as monitoring using Division attorneys and staff, to help assess compliance with the federal voting rights laws around the country,” the DOJ indicated.
“The Voting Rights Act permits federal observers to monitor procedures in polling places and at sites where ballots are counted in eligible political subdivisions. The Division determines whether federal observers are needed in an eligible jurisdiction.
“If so, the Division notifies the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) that federal observers are needed, which OPM recruits, and then, in cooperation with Division attorneys, supervises federal observers. Federal observers write reports of the activities they witness in polling places and provide those reports to the Division.”
