Fox News reported the latest update on the election:

Election Day polls are open across the East Coast and are rapidly opening across the country Tuesday morning as the Midterm Elections hit the final stretch.

The earliest polls opened on the East Coast at 5 a.m. ET, while dozens more states have since opened their polls as of 7 a.m. ET.

Polls in California will not open until 10 a.m. ET, along with several other West Coast states.

The first polling places will begin closing in parts of Kentucky and Indiana at 6 p.m. ET, but most states will not begin closing until 7 p.m. ET.

Republicans are defending their slim congressional majorities, but President Donald Trump predicts the GOP will hold the House and Senate for the final two years of his presidency.

“We’re going to win and let’s make the next two years bigger and better and stronger than ever before,” Trump told supporters Sunday night at a rally in Kansas.

Long lines were also spotted at early voting locations on Monday and last week:

Kentucky reported that election turnout in the Bluegrass State has hit Presidential election numbers:

Lexington’s first day of early voting had a similar turnout to that day in the last presidential election, according to the Fayette County Clerk’s Office.

And long lines at polling places Friday suggests the city is seeing high turnout for a second day. TOP VIDEOS The video player is currently playing an ad. Lines were not only longer than usual, but moved slower, said Quin Welch, a spokesperson for the clerk’s office, which oversees local elections. Some people waited in line for an hour or longer, but it appeared they were moving faster Friday morning.

“We’re seeing a lot more early voters than we typically do at the libraries,” Welch told the Herald-Leader. “We’re kind of near normal presidential year turnout as it is now.”

There were 1,276 fewer voters Thursday in Lexington than on the city’s first day of early voting in the 2024 presidential election, which Welch said is a slim margin. The Lexington Public Library Eastside Branch drew the most voters, 1,600, of all local precincts Thursday. The Northside Branch had 1,364 voters, Tate’s Creek had 1,341, Marksbury had 1,235, Beaumont had 953 and Central had 807.
