A couple days ago, ICE agents were forced to open fire on a criminal illegal alien gang member in New York City.
The illegal alien, identified as 28-year-old Oscar Belgal from the Dominican Republic, was shot in the neck and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Now, newly-released surveillance footage is shedding new light on what led up to the incident.
In the video, you can see Belgal trying to speed away from federal agents after they approach his gray Honda CR-V.
ICE agents follow and catch up with Belgal about half a block away, but the actual shooting takes place out-of-frame of the cameras.
Watch for yourself:
NYPD bodycam footage from the aftermath of the shooting has also been released:
ICE claims that Belgal accelerated his vehicle at agents, smashing into two of them and forcing them to open fire.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin has confirmed that these ICE agents were also wearing body-cameras during the incident, but at this time, that footage has not been released to the public.
Meanwhile, NYC Mayor Mamdani is playing up the incident as the left cries foul.
Despite this individual being a gang-affiliated criminal with a lengthy rap sheet, Mamdani is referring to him as an innocent “New Yorker” — a claim pushed back on by the mother of a young boy who was fatally shot by the gang that Belgal is believed to have ties to.
The New York Post reported further:
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin is also pushing back on Mamdani’s framing of the events.
Watch this clip from yesterday’s press conference on the ICE-involved shooting:
Despite the facts of the case, a federal court has already ruled in favor of Oscar Belgal.
On Friday, a judge temporarily blocked his deportation from taking place.
ABC 7 NY has more details on that:
