U.S. Senate candidate invites ridicule by announcing her ‘Native American’ name

Peggy Flanagan

Peggy Flanagan has been lieutenant governor in Minnesota during a time that dozens of Somali immigrant community members turned to fraud, taking what analysts estimate is up to $9 billion from taxpayers with schemes as simple as setting up a corporation and billing the government for feeding thousands of children at a daycare center.

Even though there were no children, there was no daycare center, and the cash actually went for luxury cars.

The reputation of Tim Walz, the Democrat governor with whom Flanagan worked, was so tarnished he dropped his re-election bid and suggested he’d never run for office again.

Flanagan, however, is calling for Minnesota voters to recognize her record and then send her to the U.S. Senate.

This week, she added to her arguments, claiming that her native American name is Gizhiiwewidamookwe, and that means “Speaks with a loud and clear voice woman,” and she wants to be in Congress to oppose President Donald Trump.

My Ojibwe name is Gizhiiwewidamookwe, which means ‘Speaks in a Loud and Clear Voice Woman.’ I’m going to be Minnesota’s voice in the U.S. Senate — not Donald Trump’s.

Social media participants jumped at the open door.

@peggyflanagan Here are some Ojibwe words that better describe you @peggyflanagan https://t.co/IulqPB3ckR

They suggested other Ojibwe words that could be connected to Flanagan, who is a member of that community: Wayezhingewin, which means fraud, or deception, and wayeshingew, which means she cheats or deceives, and wayeshim, which means to cheat, trick or deceive.

Another posed a question: “What is Ojibwe for ‘woman who stays silent while billions in fraud are stolen straight out of Minnesotans wallets?”

And, “Donald Trump isn’t in the senate, he’s the president. Presidents are NOT members of the Senate. Are you sure your Ojjbwe name isn’t ‘Learns last woman?'”

My Ojibwe name is “Gaawiin obizindawaasiin giiwanaadizi-ikwe,” or “pays no attention to crazy woman. Peggy is 100% a creature of government. Government paid to feed and house her when she was a child, paid for education through college, and she has only had government/political jobs for all of her life.

Michelle Tafoya is gaining ground against wacky radical Peggy Flanagan in the Minnesota senate race. Fox just moved the race in Tafoya’s direction from likely D, to lean D. Independents are now breaking 38% for Tafoya, and only 32% for Flanagan, with 29% still undecided. https://t.co/9hnuKnuc8V

@peggyflanagan I thought your ojibwe name was “Onthetake” which means grifter who accepts Somalian kickbacks for letting them defraud the government for billions.

Flanagan previously put on a hijab and declared that Somalians built Minnesota.

MN Lt. Governor Flanagan puts on hijab, declares Somalis built Minnesota… she’s evidently of Irish and Ojibwe descent, not a Muslim… just a typical leftist panderer. https://t.co/2E000akD5Z
