The Trump Justice Department just put ten foreign nationals in the federal dock over alleged voter fraud in Minnesota.
These are not vague accusations tossed around on cable news. A federal grand jury returned separate indictments, and all ten defendants have already made their first court appearances.
Attorney General Todd Blanche said one of the alleged illegal votes was cast as recently as Minnesota’s August 2026 primary.
The Justice Department released the case-by-case details and Blanche’s warning in its official announcement:
The U.S. Department of Justice says the indictments cover the November 2022 and 2024 general elections and the August 2026 primary.
Nine defendants are accused of voting as noncitizens, and nine are charged with falsely claiming U.S. citizenship in order to vote. One defendant is accused only of the false citizenship claim connected to voter registration.
The defendants are citizens of Liberia, Lithuania, Ghana, Germany, Bosnia, Brazil, Canada and South Africa. The alleged conduct includes false citizenship claims during registration and ballots cast in federal and state elections.
Joshua Frederick Kofi Edzie, a Ghanaian national, faces three counts. Prosecutors allege that he voted in the August primary and falsely claimed citizenship in both 2024 and 2026.
The other cases include allegations tied to the 2022 and 2024 general elections.
A false citizenship claim made to vote is a felony carrying up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Voting as a noncitizen is a misdemeanor carrying up to one year in prison and a $100,000 fine.
Every defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. But the existence of ten federal indictments destroys the lazy claim that noncitizen voting is somehow imaginary or not worth enforcing.
Blanche put the principle plainly: only American citizens may vote in American elections. That should not be controversial, partisan or negotiable.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the Minnesota cases are part of a much wider enforcement effort. His remarks suggest federal investigators are uncovering cases that state officials either missed or declined to pursue:
CBS Minnesota reports that DHS currently has roughly 1,600 voter-fraud investigations underway. Mullin said the department has already made 100 administrative arrests and 53 criminal arrests, secured 37 indictments and obtained ten convictions connected to illegal voting.
U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen delivered an equally direct warning: if a noncitizen tries to vote in Minnesota, federal prosecutors will bring a case. He called voting a privilege of citizenship and said falsely swearing citizenship to obtain a ballot is a crime.
Minnesota’s secretary of state responded that the ten indictments represent an extremely small share of the roughly 8.5 million votes cast during the elections involved.
Fine. Fraud does not become legal because it is statistically small, and a lawful vote does not become disposable because somebody prefers a reassuring percentage.
Fox News Digital reports that the Trump Justice Department has now charged more than 90 people with voter-related offenses since President Trump returned to office, including 50 noncitizens in just the past five weeks. Blanche also challenged a press corps that keeps treating these cases as insignificant no matter how many charges are announced.

This is what election integrity looks like when the people in charge actually believe the law should be enforced.
President Trump’s DOJ is not asking Americans to trust slogans. It is filing charges, naming defendants, laying out statutes and forcing alleged violations into court where evidence can be tested.
One illegal vote is one citizen’s lawful voice canceled out. Ten indictments are ten reasons to stop pretending the problem cannot happen — and 1,600 active investigations are a flashing warning that this crackdown may only be getting started.
