President Donald Trump took aim at Fox News for giving Democratic politicians and commentators what he described as excessive airtime, marking his latest criticism of the media as his administration continues to clash with news organizations.
“Why does FoxNews always put Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Jessica Tarlov, and every Democrat on, saying bad things about the Republican Party and, of course, me?” Trump wrote Wednesday on Truth Social.
“I actually think they get more airtime than Pro Republicans,” Trump continued. “This is why MAGA, and REAL Patriots, will never like Fox! They repeat a completely negative narrative, on and on it goes, and then we get a quick retort. It’s truly amazing that I won all three Elections. The opposition is enormous, but the fight goes on!”
Trump’s criticism comes despite his generally close relationship with Fox News, the most trusted and widely used news source among Republicans, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted last year.
Trump has also regularly appeared on Fox News and has staffed his administration with several former Fox personalities. Two prominent Fox News alumni are working in top administration positions: War Secretary Pete Hegseth, who previously co-hosted Fox & Friends Weekend, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, who was a Fox Business contributor.
The president’s latest criticism of the network comes as he has escalated his attacks on news organizations that have published reporting he considers unfavorable.
Earlier this month, the White House barred reporters from CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House grounds, citing what Trump characterized as “fake news.” The outlets swiftly sued the administration on First Amendment grounds.
Reporters from the outlets were temporarily barred from the White House until a federal judge issued a restraining order.
The outlets have since asked a federal court to block the administration’s restrictions, arguing that the White House had continued to implement the ban unpredictably and inconsistently despite a judge’s restraining order. The outlets also alleged that CNN was selectively excluded from White House pool duties.
Fox News joined other members of the White House television pool in announcing a suspension of their rotational daily coverage of the president’s schedule, but the networks have since resumed their coverage.
More than 50 news organizations, including Fox News, also signed an amicus brief opposing the administration’s restrictions, calling Trump’s decision “constitutionally repugnant.”

The outlets spanned ideological lines, including signatures from Vox, every major television broadcast network, the Washington Post, the Associated Press, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times, among others.
