Three people were killed and four more injured in a mass shooting at a Detroit strip club early Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred at 7:21 a.m., according to Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison, and stemmed from a fight. All victims were in their 20s and 30s; the three deaths were men, and the wounded were split between two men and two women. The wounded were rushed to hospitals in private cars.
“A fight occurred, an altercation occurred, and as a result individuals decided to settle it with gun violence,” Bettison said.
The four injured are all in stable condition. The three dead were still alive when police arrived at the scene, though they quickly succumbed to their wounds.
The location came as no surprise to the DPD, he added, as they’d been called to the location seven times in just 2026. Police had leads but couldn’t discuss details.
“This was an after-hours location,” Bettison said. “Imagine a strip club. … I’ll leave it at that.”
Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield said the city needed “more people to speak up to bring justice to the situation.”
“It’s heartbreaking and our community should not suffer from this type of violence,” she said.

The strip club was apparently illegal and operated out of a residential area. Sheffield vowed to crack down on such operations.
“I will work with the chief to do everything that we can to continue to crack down on illegal after-hour operations, whether there are home resident businesses that are operating these or businesses throughout the city of Detroit,” Sheffield said. “To ensure that this is not happening in our communities and in our neighborhoods.”
