A 15-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting near Florida A&M University in Tallahassee.
The shooting, which injured 12 people, including six children, happened after the school’s homecoming game over the weekend.
“On Sunday, Oct. 25, detectives arrested 15-year-old Anthony Rivers III in connection with the shooting. Following consultation with State Attorney Jack Campbell, Rivers is facing 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent,” the Tallahassee Police Department said.
“Preliminary findings indicate a physical altercation occurred before shots were fired. Detectives believe the incident stemmed from a dispute between individuals known to one another. At this stage of the investigation, none of the victims appear to have been the intended targets,” it continued.

ESPN shared further:
The shooting happened just outside Bragg Memorial Stadium after Florida A&M lost to Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Eleven people were hit by gunfire and one person was injured while running away. Six of those hurt were minors, police said Sunday.
At least three of the victims suffered serious injuries, authorities said.
Video surfaced on social media of people fleeing in terror. The area was crowded with people leaving the game and homecoming celebration.
“What should have been a weekend of celebration in our community instead became a night of fear and violence for the victims and their families,” said Chief of Police Lawrence Revell.
“While this arrest marks a significant step forward, our work is far from over. We remain committed to holding those responsible accountable and getting answers for every family impacted by this tragedy,” Revell continued.

CBS News has more:
University President Marva Johnson said in a statement on Sunday that she shares in the “outrage and profound sadness at the senseless and despicable shooting” near the campus.
“To all the victims, please know that we are with you and we are praying for your recovery, in body, mind and spirit,” Johnson said in a video.
Quinn Gray, FAMU’s head coach, reacted to the shooting, saying in a Facebook post that the “senseless violence has to stop” and that no argument or altercation is worth someone’s life.
“Homecoming is about family. It’s about coming home to celebrate everything FAMU means to us,” he said. “No one should leave our celebration in an ambulance, and no child should ever be caught in gunfire.”
