EXCLUSIVE — A conservative advocacy group is launching a six-figure advertising campaign to pressure the Trump administration to follow through on its threat to investigate the European Union over its treatment of American technology companies.

Public Policy Solutions, a free-market nonprofit organization, announced Monday that it is launching a television and digital ad campaign accusing the EU of unfairly targeting American companies with regulations, investigations, and massive fines.

The campaign, which includes a 60-second ad titled “Bad Allies” and a corresponding website, comes nearly three months after President Donald Trump called for a Section 301 trade investigation into the EU following its decision to fine Google roughly $1 billion for violating European antitrust rules. Microsoft, Apple, Meta, and Amazon were similarly penalized by the EU.

Despite Trump’s July announcement, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer has yet to initiate the investigation, although administration officials have been laying the groundwork. Section 301 investigations are initiated under the Trade Act to address foreign trade practices that discriminate against or burden American commerce.

In a statement to the Washington Examiner, Public Policy Solutions co-founder John Czwartacki criticized the EU for attacking “American innovation for too long.”

“It’s time we fought back,” Czwartacki said. “From overreaching regulations and massive fines to baseless investigations, the EU is trying to cripple America’s most innovative companies. Yet, Europe expects its companies to enjoy unfettered access to the U.S. market.”

The group is urging federal officials not only to support the investigation but also to reconsider government contracts with European companies and explore reciprocal regulatory measures against EU businesses.

“Failure to stand up for American companies will only strengthen our mutual enemies, weaken our alliance, and harm innovation in America and Europe alike,” he said.

In the “Bad Allies” ad, the narrator accuses the EU of “robbing American businesses, [and] creating rules and regulations designed to punish our most innovative companies.”

“Massive fines and baseless investigations, hurting American families and workers, making life more expensive,” the narrator says. “President Trump won’t let Europe get away with their dirty tricks. He and his team are fighting back, demanding an investigation into Europe’s unfair attacks. It’s a critical first step, and it must happen now.

“Europe is using every weapon in its arsenal to attack American innovation, and it’s time we do the same,” the ad continues. “Every agency has a role to play to bring real pressure. Fight fire with fire. The time for endless negotiations is over. It’s time for action. Every day without an investigation, real scrutiny, and equal treatment of European firms, they win, and American families lose. Stand with President Trump as he stops bad allies from taking advantage of America.”
