Nancy Mace Announces Decision On Potential Senate Run

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) announced on Monday that she will not enter the South Carolina GOP special primary to replace the late Sen. Lindsey Graham on November’s ballot.

“I’m not running for the Senate – because I have some unfinished business. Since I stood on that House floor, I’ve been fighting for every woman and girl who was told to stay silent. I want justice – and that day is coming,” Mace said.

“Thank you for all your support, all the calls and texts. You are the BEST. Serving South Carolina is the honor of my LIFE, and I will NEVER forget it,” she continued.

Her decision followed a move by Sen. Darline Graham, R-S.C., to take up her brother’s mantle after she was appointed to finish off the remainder of her late brother’s term. She made her decision to officially enter the upcoming special election after a push from President Donald Trump.

Graham, during an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, acknowledged the “tremendous amount of pressure” to take over the position and run.

“I feel like I can do it, I feel an inner peace about it,” Graham said. “Will it be difficult? Yes.”

When asked if she had made a decision on what she would do, she told Hannity she had.

“I’m in,” Graham said.

Her addition to the growing roster of hopefuls to replace the late lawmaker will likely shake up the race less than one day before candidates can begin officially filing to run for the nomination.

The special primary to replace Lindsey Graham will also feature businessman Mark Lynch, Rep. Ralph Norman, and Rep. Russell Fry.

“South Carolina, I’m in! I’m running for the U.S. Senate. Too many South Carolina families are struggling to make ends meet. High gas prices and soaring grocery costs are hurting hardworking people,” Fry said.

“We need a conservative fighter in the Senate who delivers real results. I will be your conservative MAGA candidate in the special primary Senate election this summer. I’m ready for the fight, and I’m all in,” he continued.

The Hill has more:

Mace has been a vocal proponent for the release of files tied to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and has pushed to have his victims openly acknowledged. She has also urged law enforcement to go after any accomplices.

In March, Mace introduced a resolution and forced votes to compel the House Ethics Committee to publicly release investigative records involving lawmakers accused of sexual harassment or assault.

The measure failed but acted as a reminder of her commitment to unearthing allegations of misconduct and abuse.
