Man Arrested Outside Of NBA Star LeBron James Home After Claiming To Be His Son

A man who allegedly showed up at NBA superstar LeBron James’ Los Angeles property and claimed to be his son was arrested for felony stalking Friday night, authorities confirmed to KTLA.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the 500 block of North Tigertail Road around 9:40 p.m. Nov. 6 following a report of a possible burglary, according to LAPD Media Relations.

A man was taken into custody at the scene, police said. LAPD later confirmed to KTLA that the suspect was arrested for felony stalking.

According to TMZ, which first reported the incident, security personnel spotted the man on surveillance cameras at James’ property around 9 p.m. and contacted authorities.

The suspect reportedly told responding officers that he believed he was James’ son, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

James was not home at the time of the incident, according to the outlet.

TMZ reported that the suspect did not enter the residence.

The man’s identity has not been released, and it remains unclear whether he had previously approached James or his property.

President Donald Trump on Thursday accused LeBron James of disrespecting the United States after the NBA star appeared to continue his warmups while the national anthem was performed before Philadelphia’s season opener on Tuesday.

“I said right from the beginning that he’s no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE,” Trump said of James in a social media post sharing the video. “LeBron James should apologize to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag, and all that our Country stands for!”

James appeared to practice a golf swing and jump shot as The Star-Spangled Banner was performed at Tuesday’s game in New York. James, starting his first season with Philadelphia, was lined up alongside teammates who mostly stood still during the anthem.

Trump and James have been critical of each another for years, occasionally trading public swipes.

James had not made a public comment or a social media post as of Thursday afternoon about Trump’s gripe.
