We have another one…
A second Massachusetts mother — no, not Lindsay Clancy — has been accused of murdering her two young children.
Kai was just 7 years old, and his sister Ella was 6.
Their mom, Janette MacAusland, allegedly strangled them to death and then tried to kill herself back in April.
But now, in light of the Lindsay Clancy case, her defense attorney is asking the judge to either release her from custody or throw out the whole case.
Thankfully, the judge denied his insane requests.
Fox News reported:
Less than a week after the closely watched Lindsay Clancy murder trial ended in a mistrial, another Massachusetts case involving a mother accused of killing her children returned to court Thursday.
And the defense sought to have charges dismissed after prosecutors said they were still awaiting a medical examiner’s findings.
Prosecutors told the court they are still awaiting the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s official determination of the children’s cause and manner of death, prompting defense attorney Joseph Krowski to ask that the case be dismissed or that Janette MacAusland be released on bail, WCVB reported.
A judge denied both requests, ordering MacAusland to remain held without bail.
The lawyer, Joseph Krowski, directly referred to the Clancy trial as his reasoning for why the judge should agree to this shocking request.
“This is not Lindsay Clancy 2.0,” he said,
“Janette MacAusland is her own woman, but there’s been a discussion, a discourse that’s opened up in this country about whether or not we want to criminalize mental illness.”

Janette MacAusland, 49, is accused of killing her two children, Kai and Ella MacAusland, ages 6 and 7.
“I’m hoping that this district attorney’s office and the new district attorney elect takes a look at this and takes a different approach in how we prosecute women suffering from profound mental health problems,” attorney Joseph Krowski said.
So are we just going to cite “mental illness” every time a woman commits a crime?
Unlike in the Lindsay Clancy case, whose defense argued that she is not guilty by reason of insanity due to postpartum psychosis, MacAusland’s legal team has not formally announced an insanity defense.
She (allegedly) murdered her kids amid an ongoing custody fight with the children’s father.
The New York Post shared the disturbing details of the case:
“I strangled them and then I tried to kill myself,” MacAusland told a Vermont cop at her aunt’s Bennington home, where she showed up out of the blue with bloody wounds across her neck late one night in April, according to a police report.
“I wanted the three of us to go to God together but it didn’t work,” she allegedly told the officer…
MacAusland, who was an acupuncturist with New England Integrated Health, had been fighting to get custody of the children after her husband filed for divorce last October after nine years of marriage.
The children’s father, Samuel MacAusland, was seeking custody of the couple’s children and home, court filings show.
The bitter legal battle appeared to come to a head when the parents filed a motion to have a third party make recommendations on custody – with a guardian being appointed on April 21, just three days before the slayings.
Prosecutors previously recounted in court that MacAusland had shown up “hysterical” at her aunt’s home, roughly 140 miles away from her $1.5 million mansion in the ritzy Boston suburb, on April 24.
After her concerned aunt called cops, Wellesley police found the bodies of the kids inside of a bedroom, and noted there was “blood spatter everywhere,” according to harrowing dispatch audio.
Has our world really reached the point where mothers who viciously murder their own kids are let off the hook simply because they are mentally ill?
Isn’t it obvious that most murderers are not mentally well?
That doesn’t excuse their horrific crimes!
Folks on X have some things to say:
Looks like Lindsay Clancy case has opened pandora box for other crazy mothers to make use of!
