House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) is bullish that Democrats will secure at least a 10-seat majority in the next session of Congress.
“I think we’re looking at a majority of 10 to 15 [seats], but it could so easily be a lot more,” Clark told Punchbowl News on Wednesday. “The polls are all looking great.”

Still, political winds are blowing in Democrats’ favor, as midterm elections typically favor the party out of power. Republicans also face headwinds from voter concerns over rising costs tied to the Iran war and President Donald Trump’s low approval ratings.

“When we win on Nov. 3, I am supremely confident Hakeem Jeffries will be the next speaker,” Clark said. “He is the right person for this job at this time.”
