JUST IN: Texas mother is accused of shooting and killing her two sons.

42-year-old Colleen Nichole Lemmon is accused of shooting and killing both of her sons in their Waxahachie home.

Police say they arrived at the home to find two male victims, one 15 years old and the other 21 years old, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police identified the 21-year-old son as Christopher Scott Pitre.

Lemmon, 42, was arrested and taken to the hospital for “treatment.” She reportedly had non-life-threatening injuries.

She was later released from the hospital and booked at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center.

Investigators have not revealed what led to the murders. The mother is charged with two counts of capital murder.

It’s unclear if Lemmon has “postpartum depression.”

At this time, authorities have not released a motive or revealed any of the circumstances that led up to the fatal shooting.

Colleen Nichole Lemmon is facing capital murder charges, which means that the death penalty could be on the table under Texas law.

Fox 4 Dallas-Fort Worth reported further:

On Thursday, October 1, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 900 block of Big Sky Drive in Waxahachie.

Sheriff’s deputies found two adult males with gunshot wounds at the residence. One victim, 21-year-old Christopher Scott Pitre, was found deceased at the scene.

A second victim, a 15-year-old juvenile, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. He later died from his injuries.

The victims’ mother, 42-year-old Colleen Nichole Lemmon, was found at the residence with non-life-threatening injuries.

Through an investigation, police determined Lemmon was responsible for shooting both victims. She was arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder.

Lemmon has been booked into the Ellis County Jail. Her bond is pending arraignment.

An arrest affidavit states deputies found Lemmon covered in blood with a gun next to her at the residence. She appeared to have self-inflicted cuts on her wrists.

When asked where the blood came from, she told the officers, “I shot both my kids.” Both victims were found with gunshot wounds to their heads.

NBC 5 DFW shared a statement from the sheriff:

“My deepest sympathies go out to the victims’ father, family members, and loved ones involved in this tragic incident,” Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman said in a statement. “They will remain in our prayers during this difficult time.”

This is absolutely terrible and tragic.

Please keep the two boys’ father and loved ones in your prayers during their time of unimaginable loss.

These boys deserve justice.
