GOP Mocks Senate Democrat For Confusing Federal Judge With Rock Singer: ‘Hope This Helps!’

When leftist Democrats make their pro-abortion arguments, they’re typically based more on feelings than facts.

But a recent post from Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) revealed an inattention to detail that even the Senate Judiciary Republicans’ account couldn’t resist highlighting.

As the Daily Caller reported:

Murray confused a now-confirmed Sixth Circuit federal judge and former Ohio Solicitor General Benjamin Flowers with rock band The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers in a Tuesday night post on X:

“Today, Senate Republicans gave a lifetime judicial appointment to anti-abortion extremist Brandon Flowers,” Murray wrote.

The mistake garnered a slew of comments from users poking fun at the mix-up.

For those confused:

Benjamin Flowers (left) is a former Scalia law clerk & state Solicitor General. He's highly-qualified for the lifetime judgeship to which he was just confirmed.

Brandon Flowers (right) is the lead vocalist for alt rock band "The Killers."

Hope this helps! https://t.co/TvIzS2CUTj pic.twitter.com/dOhlWO6Qkb

While the typo was low-hanging fruit, many others focused on the more substantial issue with her post:

This is great news! All judges should agree that m*rder is against the law!

Good! Sounds like the right man for the job!

P.S. Abortion is murder

AOL added these details:

Murray has held her Senate seat since 1993.

Before she was in the United States Senate, she served in the Washington State Senate.

Judge Flowers was appointed by President Donald Trump to the Sixth Circuit.

As for the rock singer Brandon Flowers, he is the voice behind his band The Killers’ hit song “Mr. Brightside.”

Here’s a tense exchange between Flowers and another Democrat lawmaker at his confirmation hearing earlier this year:
