Comedian Bill Burr has sold out to the very people he once used to make a mockery of, choosing to pander to Hollywood liberals and social media socialists as a wannabe political pundit.
Burr’s foray into Hollywood continues with a role in the film The Social Reckoning, a hit piece of a movie targeting Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg. A clip posted to X by the film’s promotional account shows Burr playing a schoolmarm lawyer lecturing Zuckerberg about how voters are stupid “children” and must have social media censored for their own good. Burr claimed in a Rolling Stone interview about his role in the film that he is embarrassed by his reputation as “the angry comic,” and that he wants to be known now as a “meet-in-the-middle guy.”

As part of his new liberal pundit persona, Burr wants to “meet in the middle” with his support of the cold-blooded murder of Americans. Burr continues to defend the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was allegedly gunned down in the street by Luigi Mangione. In talking about that act of domestic terrorism, where a father was killed in cold blood, Burr celebrated the murder and tacitly endorsed the idea that only a “bloodbath” can change the system.
That Burr would celebrate the murder of a supposedly greedy millionaire is ironic, given that Burr himself is a greedy millionaire. Burr accepted a large check to join a comedy festival in Saudi Arabia put on by the human rights abusers in the Saudi government, and then mocked everyone who pointed it out. Burr, criticizing the greed of others and celebrating their murders, accepted Saudi blood money (and Saudi censorship of his content) to help whitewash the Saudi regime.

Burr has become a basic Hollywood Democratic mouthpiece. His role in The Social Reckoning as the personification of Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) view of censorship is not a one-off. Burr valiantly came to the defense of the Democratic establishment in Los Angeles after city leaders allowed entire neighborhoods to burn down, claiming that “everybody did a great job” and that the situation was in no way “mismanaged.” Burr has become indistinguishable from a Democratic Party communications outfit.
Burr’s entire career has shifted toward winning the favor of his fellow Hollywood Democrats, in hopes of getting more paychecks like the one he got from Disney for guest-starring in a Star Wars show. He has been tamed, spouting Democratic talking points about wokeness that he once would have mocked, with his only “controversial” opinions being the ones that are approved of in his peer group (such as celebrating the murder of Thompson). He has become a run-of-the-mill sellout liberal celebrity who thinks he can change the world by blessing it with his political opinions, consumed by the very greed he sanctimoniously purports to oppose.
