In a weekend rally in support of his fellow Democrats, former President Barack Obama ripped President Donald Trump, claiming the current commander in chief had turned the White House into something resembling a Cheesecake Factory if Saddam Hussein had built it.
Many Trump supporters online rebutted Obama, saying the remark was condescending toward middle-class Americans who patronize the popular restaurant chain.
But likely the most effective slap-back was delivered by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent as he emerged from a Cheesecake Factory restaurant after having enjoyed a French-dip cheeseburger for lunch.

Fox Business caught up with Bessent Monday afternoon.
The U.S. Treasury secretary shot back at Obama, saying, “This is the man who built a museum that looks like Darth Vader’s tomb” – a reference to the Chicago presidential library.
He continued, “I had a great meal,” motioning to the restaurant, “and I would tell the Martha’s Vineyard set to give it a try.”
