WATCH: President Trump Makes Final Iowa Push, Predicts ‘America First’ Sweep

President Trump greets supporters at a packed Iowa rally

President Trump brought his closing midterm argument to a packed rally in Dubuque, Iowa, on Sunday — and he did not sound like a man preparing to surrender an inch of ground.

With control of Congress hanging in the balance, the president predicted that voters would elect “America First” Republicans up and down the ballot on Tuesday.

The Iowa Senate race was front and center. Republican nominee Ashley Hinson is trying to defeat Democrat Josh Turek and keep the seat in GOP hands.

Team Trump put the choice in blunt terms, contrasting Hinson’s work ethic with Turek’s record in the Iowa Legislature:

Josh Turek skipped 58% of his votes in the state legislature. But he wants Iowa to give him a promotion to the United States Senate.

WRONG!

The stakes extend well beyond one candidate. A Republican Senate and House would give President Trump room to keep advancing the agenda voters sent him back to Washington to carry out.

The Associated Press reported that President Trump spoke for roughly two hours in Dubuque before heading to Kansas for another rally. He told the Iowa crowd that Republicans were on the verge of sweeping victories and pledged that voters would elect America First candidates throughout the ticket.

The report also described a packed arena filled with voters who want Republicans to hold Congress so the president can keep moving his program forward. One first-time Trump rallygoer said the president has done what he promised and should be allowed to keep going.

House Speaker Mike Johnson delivered the same warning after campaigning through contested districts: ignore the people trying to declare the race finished before Election Day.

Speaker @MikeJohnson shares what he's learned while campaigning across the country: "I have been to the swing districts. I have been to the blue states. I have been to the areas where they claim that this race is over. It is not over! And Tuesday's when we decide it!"

That is the message Republicans need in the final hours: polls do not vote, pundits do not vote, and media narratives do not vote. Americans do.

KCRG reported that President Trump used the Dubuque stop to press Republicans to turn out, defend Iowa’s first-in-the-nation political status, highlight a major steel-mill project, address farmers and high prices, and make his case for keeping the House and Senate.

The local station noted that this was the president’s second Iowa visit in the closing stretch. The rally filled the Five Flags Center just two days before voters make the final call.

And when the speech was over, the room still had plenty of energy left:

President Trump has now made the closing argument. The choice belongs to the voters, and every Republican who wants the America First agenda to continue has one job left: show up Tuesday and finish it.
