Family and community members will gather in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on Friday to honor the 40 passengers and crew members of Flight 93 who all died during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) will deliver a speech at the memorial ceremony starting at 1 p.m. A morning observance was scheduled for 8:30 a.m.

Twenty-five years ago, United Airlines Flight 93 took off from Newark International Airport en route to San Francisco International Airport when al Qaeda terrorists hijacked the plane in an attempt to attack the Capitol in Washington. The passengers and crew aboard the flight fought back and successfully thwarted the final attack, and took the plane down in a field in rural Shanksville. All passengers and crew on board the plane lost their lives.
