Now, we have a tragic update to bring you.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Yoseliani Marte.

Sadly, she was reportedly shot and killed during a domestic violence incident.

What a heartbreaking turn of events.

Prayers for this young woman’s family.

Fox News reported further:

While police have not officially identified the victim, her family identified her as 18-year-old Yoseliani Marte in a GoFundMe campaign created by her mother.

In the fundraiser, Marte’s mother said her daughter was killed as a “result of domestic violence.”

Police responded to a residence in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood around 1:52 p.m. Saturday, where they found the victim suffering from a single gunshot wound, according to police reports obtained by Fox News Digital.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley and her husband, Conan Harris, do not live at the home where this violent, fatal incident took place.

At this time, police have not released many details.

Homicide detectives are still investigating the terrible incident.

Boston 25 News has more:

A spokesperson for Pressley’s office says neither Pressley nor her family were involved in the incident, and Pressley offers her deepest condolences to the family impacted.

“We got home and there were police coming down the street, they blocked off with crime tape over there and neighbors gathered around,” a neighbor said.

“I mean it’s sad, it’s really sad cause you know this neighborhood is a wonderful place to be.”

Family and friends held a vigil for the victim last night.

The manner of death remains under investigation, according to Boston police.
