Former Sen. John Sununu won the Republican primary in the New Hampshire Senate race on Tuesday.
Endorsed by President Trump, Sununu will face Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in November’s general election.
Sununu easily defeated Scott Brown, the former U.S. senator from Massachusetts who was elected in 2010 to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat.
More from The New York Times:
“As senator, I’ll have just one job: stand up for the people of New Hampshire every single day,” Sununu said in a statement.
“We will keep listening, keep working, and stay laser-focused on the economy, jobs, and making life more affordable,” he added.
