Just one day after federal agents raided the home of Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar, the DOJ has issued grand jury subpoenas to several of her relatives.

This includes Rep. Omar’s sister Sahra Noor, as well as at least one other family member.

Officials are diving deep into her family’s history, searching for evidence of fraud and/or falsities in their immigration records.

Nick Sortor broke down the details in a post on X:

Investigators are SCOURING her family’s immigration history for possible fraud and false statements

Part of the probe: whether her late father, Nur Omar Mohamed, LIED or left things out on his immigration forms before becoming a citizen, including Ilhan’s REAL age, which would DIRECTLY impact Ilhan’s citizenship status

If she was ACTUALLY an adult at the time, when she was claimed to be a minor, her citizenship could be NULL AND VOID. And there IS evidence of this being the case.

This comes one day after federal agents carried BOXES of documents out of Omar’s DC home during a MULTI-HOUR raid

President Trump said it perfectly: “America wants answers, and we want them, NOW!”

Reportedly, investigators are focusing on whether Omar’s father lied or illegally omitted information on his immigration forms.

This is crucial to the case because Rep. Omar says she got her U.S. citizenship through her father.

The New York Times was the first to report on the latest development in the investigation.

A sister of Ms. Omar’s, Sahra Noor, received a subpoena, as did at least one other member of her family circle, according to people familiar with the investigation. On Monday, D.H.S. agents executed a search warrant at her home in Washington, carrying out boxes of documents, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss investigative steps.

Ms. Noor, a health care professional and author, did not reply to requests for comment sent by email and made in a call with someone who identified herself as a daughter of Ms. Noor’s.

Grand jury subpoenas are issued to gather evidence about possible crimes, and do not mean that the recipients themselves are under investigation. On Monday, Ms. Omar condemned the search of her home, calling it an effort by the Trump administration “to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.” She has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing on immigration matters.

The specifics of the investigation into Ms. Omar remain unclear, but in recent months, federal investigators have been scrutinizing her family’s immigration history. The inquiry focuses in part on whether Ms. Omar’s late father, Nur Omar Mohamed, lied or omitted information in immigration forms before becoming a U.S. citizen.

The subpoenas are another investigative step the Justice Department is taking just a few weeks before Election Day, a time when law enforcement officials typically avoid taking overt measures, such as executing search warrants and issuing subpoenas, that could be seen as trying to help or hurt a candidate. Prosecutors have sometimes been willing to carry out such steps if they have reason to believe evidence could be destroyed, or if other crimes could be committed.

This also comes as a separate report has revealed that Rep. Omar’s staff had her birth year changed on official records in 2019 — another sign of potential immigration fraud.

Per the New York Post:

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s staff helped get her birthdate changed in public records once the Minnesota Democrat was elected to Congress in 2018, a switch that has since spurred frenzied accusations that she misrepresented her age to secure US citizenship.

The alteration could offer a big clue as to what federal immigration agents were searching for when they raided her DC home Monday: If the congresswoman is actually one year older than she’s claimed to be, that would mean she couldn’t have legally become a US citizen in 2000, critics contend.

Omar’s birthdate had been listed in the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library as Oct. 4, 1981, as well as on reference sites such as Wikipedia and in media outlets like the BBC, for the entire time she served in the state House and for several months into her congressional term.

But the congresswoman’s staff moved to shift the date forward by one year in May 2019 after a video from a political opponent went viral that claimed Omar was fibbing about her age, according to emails reviewed by The Post.

“On May 17, 2019, Library staff were informed by Rep. Omar’s congressional staff that her birth year was incorrect and requested that we change it to 1982,” wrote the director of the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library in an email just days after the change was made.

“Rep. Omar’s congressional staff are working with Wikipedia and with the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress and other sources to correct her birth year on those sites. As of today, the birth year has not been corrected on the two sites I mentioned,” the director added in the May 24, 2019 email.

The legislative reference library director, who did not respond to a request for comment, said in another email that the initial 1981 birth year had been put down because it was “widely available—in Wikipedia and the Biographical Directory–and so we added that birthdate without documentation.”

It appears the walls are finally closing in on Rep. Ilhan Omar, with the DOJ’s case rapidly picking up speed.

Along with this investigation into alleged immigration fraud, another federal probe has been launched into her sketchy financial disclosures.
