A video recorded by a residential doorbell camera depicts an individual approaching a home in Arizona, interacting with a package on the porch, and departing with the item while carrying printed materials associated with Democratic Party candidates.

The footage, which was initially posted by Robert Contreras of Turning Point Action with the caption “Katie Hobbs volunteer steals package off someone’s porch while knocking,” shows the person walking toward the front door, appearing to knock or check for a response, handling a package that had been left near the entrance, and then walking away with it. A second angle from the same property confirms the individual leaves the premises carrying the package.

The person can also seen placing Democratic Party campaign literature at the door.

The materials visible in the video have been identified in subsequent posts and commentary as LUCHA Blue flyers. LUCHA, or Living United for Change in Arizona, is a Phoenix-based progressive 501(c)(4) organization that conducts door-to-door canvassing and voter engagement efforts supporting Democratic Party candidates, including Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs.

We know Arizona’s economy has become terrible under Katie Hobbs, but this is still a crime. https://t.co/IIZf0jBHfy

One observer noted on X that the individual appeared to be a paid canvasser for LUCHA rather than a direct volunteer for the Hobbs campaign itself. The original post by Contreras does not name the individual or provide independent verification of any formal affiliation with the Hobbs campaign or LUCHA.

As of October 20, no public statement has been issued by the Hobbs campaign, LUCHA, the homeowner, or any law enforcement agency regarding the video.

Republican figures including U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs, Hobbs’ Republican opponent in the gubernatorial race, and Arizona Corporation Commissioner Rachel Walden referenced the footage in posts questioning the actions shown. “Taking packages while door knocking for Democrats,” Biggs posted on X. “We know Arizona’s economy has become terrible under Katie Hobbs, but this is still a crime.”

Door-to-door canvassing remains a routine component of campaign and advocacy work in Arizona, with volunteers and paid canvassers typically leaving literature when residents do not answer. The identity of the person in the video has not been publicly established, and no law enforcement agency has released any statement or quote concerning the recording as of this report.
