Tim Tebow is currently falling under public scrutiny, and it’s for a reason other than his sports-related commentary, or his bold Christianity.
Those are the things that usually get Tebow in ‘trouble’.
But an organization known for pulling in big name Christian speakers and music artists to headline it’s conferences has been targeted by two Left-leaning organizations.
And Tebow’s connection as a keynote speaker for the group has caused the accusations to swing his way.
The claims leveled by the combined investigation of Mother Jones and the ‘Pablo Torre Finds Out’ podcast, are ‘serious’ — even according to Tebow himself.
But I’ll say up front that there are really TWO ‘exposes’ going on right now. And we’ll be looking at BOTH of them.
The one has insinuated that Tim Tebow has been caught in the act running point for an organization allegedly guilty of pushing very lucrative scams.
The other… is the public backlash against Mother Jones and Pablo Torre for dragging Tim Tebow’s good name through the mud.
We’ll get to the details momentarily, but let’s pick up the story here — following the public accusations against Life Surge and Tim Tebow.
Several reporters caught up with Tim and asked him about his response to the accusations on camera.

I want to be clear.
The accusations leveled at Life Surge and Tim Tebow are all unsubstantiated claims (
at least at this point) put forward by Mother Jones and the ‘Pablo Torre Finds Out’ podcast.
And Tebow’s own organization is meanwhile using this ‘pause’ to conduct its own investigation, as reported by the
New York Post:
Tim Tebow said he’s “pausing” his relationship with Life Surge after scam allegations emerged earlier this week.
The faith-based conference company was accused of using predatory sales tactics to push attendees into expensive financial and investment programs, according to a joint investigation by “Pablo Torre Finds Out” and Mother Jones.
“I think the allegations are extremely, extremely serious, and it’s something that we take very seriously,” Tebow said. “We’re having our team do an investigation, but also pausing our relationship so we can learn more about the facts to be able to understand more.”
Tebow serves as a “Kingdom Ambassador” for Life Surge and has been one of the company’s featured speakers at its “faith and finance” events.
The investigation into Life Surge alleges that it uses prominent Christian speakers to attract attendees before steering them toward costly investment and financial training programs.
Some attendees said they felt pressured into spending thousands of dollars on the courses. (Emphasis added.)
Meanwhile, Pablo Torre has used clips of Tebow explaining the VERY BIBLICAL CONCEPT — explaining how God can do ‘impossibly more than we can possibly ask, think, or imagine’ if we’ll put our resources in his hand — to paint Tebow as the ringleader of a financial scam.
I want to be clear about this part as well.
I don’t know if any of the claims against Life Surge or Tebow’s involvement in the alleged scams are true.
Or, if they are true, how much Tebow was aware and onboard with those practices.
But I know Tim Tebow’s reputation, and I know the reputation of Mother Jones and Pablo Torre for going after Christians and conservatives for clicks —
so there’s that.

I would like to point out that there is a difference between someone leaning towards what is known as ‘prosperity gospel’, and actually scamming people.
Those are two very different things that seem to be intentionally muddled together in the accusations against Tebow.
Following Tebow’s on-camera reaction, Pablo Torre shared a screenshot of a statement put out in response by the CEO of Life Surge.

At this point, the accusations are essentially ‘he said, she said’.
Along with a dash and a good heaping of (
intentionally?) muddied waters brought on by differing views of what actually constitutes the righteous use of worldly resources in conjuncture with spiritual faith.
I’m not going down that rabbit hole for this story because it would only muddy the waters even more — and needlessly!
It is, however, a bit mind-boggling to this writer that those Life Surge courses as going for such enormous amounts as claimed, as covered by the
Associated Press:
Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner who is currently a college football analyst with ESPN’s SEC Nation, said his team is conducting an internal investigation. He spoke on campus in advance of the Mississippi-Florida game at Florida Field on Saturday.
Tebow said he was “caught off guard” by the “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast that focused partly on Tebow’s speaking engagements with Life Surge.
Life Surge, which hosts around 30 events annually, typically brings in Christian celebrities like Tebow to headline events. At Life Surge’s one-day events, attendees are urged to sign up for impact classes that pitch packages ranging from $10,000 to $40,000, according to the podcast.
If attendees can’t afford the price tag, Life Surge reportedly connects them with third-party lenders who encourage them to apply for credit cards or take out home-equity loans, according to the podcast. (Emphasis added.)
I’m still not sure that would venture into the realm of a scam.
But if anyone — Christian organization or otherwise — pushes you to take out a new line of credit or borrow against your home to buy their course???
Alarm bells should definitely go off!
Again, those claims have not been independently verified. And I’m only reporting them as they are —
very alleged, and very unsubstantiated at the moment.
But I spoke in the beginning of a SECOND ‘expose’ taking shape.
That one doesn’t have a single podcast or website to link to, because it is taking shape on the internet as people react to the potential slandering of Tim Tebow’s good name.
Well known Conservative Christian and sports commentator Jon Root took direct aim at Pablo Torre following the release of the accusations against Life Surge and Tebow:

Here’s the full text of Root’s slap back at Torre, echoing succintly many of the sentiments I’ve seen popping up across social media in Tebow’s defense:

Is Life Surge something I support? Nope. It falls too close to prosperity gospel & seems to take liberties with Scripture as it pertains to wealth, finances, & assets, but that doesn’t mean this attack on Tebow is warranted. Making him the poster child of this accusation is unfair, but that’s why it has nothing impact.
Tebow is a saint, who fights against child trafficking, save children out of slavery, cares for special needs kids more than any celebrity we’ve ever seen, and he genuinely loves the Lord. That’s why this sells for Pablo.
What is evil is supporting child murder through abortion, men in women’s sports, the Democrat Party, & letting your political biases lead you to character assassination rather than actual journalism.
If Life Surge is truly scamming people, I believe Tebow would be horrified, not an accomplice.
Root also took issue with Noah Ram for his insinuation that Tebow’s decision to ‘pause’ his relationship with Life Surge was somehow damning.
