On Monday, the SpaceX and Tesla CEO posted on X: “Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many.”

Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America.

This will be the first of many.

The announcement comes roughly four months after SpaceX went public on the Nasdaq under the ticker $SPCX in one of the largest IPOs in history.

Shares recently traded near $146, and with roughly 72–73 million children under 18 in the United States, the gift is valued in the neighborhood of $10.5 billion based on recent prices.

Musk did not spell out the exact mechanism, eligibility rules, or timeline beyond “next year,” but the scale is unmistakable. He is transferring ownership from his own holdings directly to the next generation.

This builds on earlier action from SpaceX itself. Earlier this year, SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and her husband personally gifted one SpaceX share each to more than two million American children ages 11–17 in lower-income areas (with extra emphasis near their central Texas home) through the Trump Accounts program. That pledge was valued at roughly $325 million at the time.

As The Gateway Pundit has reported extensively, Trump Accounts, launched on July 4, 2026, as part of the broader effort to give every American child a stake in the economy, provide tax-advantaged investment accounts seeded with federal contributions for newborns and open to private donations.

Recent Treasury rules have cleared the way for direct stock donations into these accounts, and automatic enrollment has created accounts for tens of millions of children.

Private philanthropists, including Michael and Susan Dell with their multi-billion-dollar commitment, have already supercharged the program.

While Democrats and their media allies push more government dependency, redistribution schemes, and lectures about “equity,” Musk is handing American children actual equity in one of the most ambitious American companies on the planet.

SpaceX is building the future of space travel, satellite internet via Starlink, and reusable rockets that have already returned the United States to independent human spaceflight. Every kid receiving a share now has skin in that game.

President Trump recently awarded Musk the National Medal of Science and called him a modern-day Thomas Edison for engineering achievements that have renewed American technological leadership.

Musk’s latest move fits the pattern: massive private action that expands ownership rather than expanding bureaucracy.
