SUNDAY GOSPEL: “Prayer Brings Forth the Recipe for Revival”

Today’s Sunday message is titled, “Prayer Brings Forth the Recipe for Revival.”

Today we are to study what the Word of God speaks about revival. Prayer is one of the essential elements that will bring real revival in any nation or country.

Do you truly want to see people’s hearts and lives being changed by the power of the Gospel? If you do, please pay close attention.

Hey everybody, good morning.

My name is Pastor Robb Goodman and today is Sunday, September 20.

Wow, how the time flies.

I know I say that every week, but it’s the truth, isn’t it?

I think especially as we get closer and closer to the final day that Jesus will appear, that time is just racing onward.

It is just racing.

I mean, I cannot believe how quick the weeks go by.

I know I say that a lot in my recordings, but it’s a truth.

Anyway, I got a great message for you.

Let’s pray and we’ll get into it.

Heavenly Father, I praise you and I thank you today that you’ve placed your words in my mouth that I will speak accordingly.

Lord, give me the power and anointing that I need today to bring forth the Word of God without error and without mistake.

Lord, I will only speak what you have desired me to speak.

Make my pen, my tongue, like the pen of a ready writer, giving honor and glory to your name.

Lord, we’re so grateful that you loved us.

You love us and you keep on loving us.

No matter what’s going on in our life, no matter our failures, no matter our mistakes, your grace is upon us and we are so grateful to you.

Lord, teach us how to walk in the maturity of the Spirit and Lord to deny the works of the flesh.

We pray all these mighty things in Jesus name.

Amen.

Praise be to God.

Well, let me share the title of today’s message with you.

And I had some problems with this computer and my son’s not here.

So, I had to call him on the phone and figure out how to get this thing working correctly.

we were in the wrong mode and um it was not doing what it was supposed to do.

So the title of today’s message is prayer brings forth the recipe for revival.

Prayer brings forth the recipe for revival.

Well, that is so true.

Prayer is absolutely essential.

It is one of the most essential keys to bring revival.

And how committed are we as believers to pray for our neighborhoods, to pray for our churches, to pray that the Lord would deal with every house in the neighborhoods in which we live.

Some of us live in the country.

Some of us live in the wide open.

Some of us live in villages around the world.

Some of us live in other countries.

But no matter where you live, you can have a vital impact on the churches or I’m sorry on the people that do not know Jesus.

I don’t care where you’re from.

It does not matter.

But you can make a vital lifechanging impact on your community because you are a servant of the Most High God.

All right, let me take a sip of my coffee and we’ll get right into the right into the scripture.

You can turn to First Peter chapter 2 and we’re going to start with verse one.

The Lord is so good.

We all love him so very much, don’t we?

All right, here we go.

1 Peter chapter 2 verse one.

So get I’m reading out of the New Living Translation today.

So get rid of all evil behavior.

Be done with all deceit.

In other words, cast it off of you, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.

Like newborn babies, you must crave the pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into full experience of salvation.

Cry out for this nourishment.

Cry out for it.

Do you really want to be nourished by thy Lord?

You know, we often play games with ourselves.

I know I have.

You know, I’ve been guilty of that in my life by playing games with my own self and thinking that I’m doing this when when I’m actually doing the wrong thing.

That’s just not a good thing at all.

Cry out for this nourishment now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.

You are coming to Christ who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple.

He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.

And you are living stones that God is building up into his spiritual temple or house.

What’s more, you are his holy priest.

Through medit meditation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifice that please God.

As the scripture says, I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trust in him will never be disgraced.

What a fabulous promise from the Lord.

We all know what it feels like to be disgraced.

We got our heads hanging low.

We feel really awful about the bad things that we’ve done or maybe areas where we failed others or people in our family.

You know, we’ve all been there before.

But Jesus says, the Word of God declares here, you will never be disgraced because of the blood that Jesus shed.

You will never be disgraced.

Yes, you who trust Him, recognize the honor God has given him.

But for those who reject him, the stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.

And he is the stone that makes people stumble.

The rock that makes them fall.

They stumble because they do not obey God’s word.

I’m going to say that again.

They stumble because they do not obey God’s word.

and they meet the fate that was planned for them.

You know, I’m going to say this right now.

God does not desire anyone to spend an eternity in hell.

He is not willing that anyone would perish but come to the full responsibility and accepting the truth of the gospel because Jesus said you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.

There’s no doubt about that that the truth of God will make you free.

Wow, what a blessing.

Woo!

I’m My toes are stomping and my feet are dancing.

You can’t see it under the table, but there are moving along. [laughter] Oh, the Lord is good, is he not?

He’s so good.

He’s so good.

But you are not like that.

For you are a chosen people.

Woo.

You’re a royal priest, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.

As a result, you can show others the goodness of God.

For he called you out of darkness into his wonderful or marvelous light.

Man, once you had no identity as a people.

Now you are God’s people.

Once you receive once you receive no mercy but now you receive God’s mercy.

Dear friends, I warn you.

I warn you as temporary residents and foreigners of this earth to keep away from worldly desires that war against your very soul.

Now remember, I’ve spoken many times about this on video.

You’re a spirit.

Okay?

you.

That’s the part of you that got born again.

You have a soul.

You’re a spirit.

You have a soul.

The soulish nature is the part of you that has not yet been fully changed.

It still has areas of corruptions in it.

It still has areas of disobedience.

That is where we choose to sin and stray away from God is in the area of our soul.

And I’ve often said this, we’ve got holes in our soul.

Holes in our souls.

That is not a good thing.

You know, Nebuch Nehemiah, Nehemiah, my brother-in-law always said that.

Neihaya.

He was ne, you know, Nehemiah was very short because the name was Nehemiah.

Anyway, I don’t know what made me think of that, but but I did.

Anyway, Nehemiah became the governor of Jerusalem when they came back from the Babylonian captivity of 70 years.

And the city that had been destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, 70 years had gone by.

And I believe it was King Darius that allowed Nehemiah to come back and rebuild Jerusalem.

And what an act that was.

He provided him with the necessary lumber, the means.

He gave him lumber from forest.

I mean they the grace of God was really on Nehemiah and the people that came back with him.

Now there were two tormentors.

I don’t know if you all remember their name.

Sanballat and Tobiah.

No, that’s not a cup of coffee.

Tobiah.

Oh, that’s a good brew, isn’t it?

Tobiah. [laughter] Anyway, they constantly threatened the Jews as they were rebuilding the walls and threatened to kill them that they were going to write letters back to King Darius and really tried to stop them.

But again, Darius put his stamp of approval.

He paid for everything.

Man, what a blessing, right?

What a blessing.

You know, some of you who are pastors out there and you’ve built buildings because there were people that didn’t know the Lord that put their faith and trust in you and what God had called you to do and gave you the means to do it.

That’s amazing.

I’m believing that’s going to happen with me one day.

You know, I’ve been in ministry for many years.

I’ve had a lot of ups and downs.

made a lot of mistakes, had a lot of faults.

I’m not afraid to admit that.

But no longer time to play games with God.

This is what I’m saying, people.

It is no longer time to play games with the Lord.

the Holy Spirit knows that time is short.

We must obey the Lord and be about our Father’s business.

Amen.

Just like Jesus said when he was 12 years old.

So dear friends, I warn you as temporary residents and foreigners, we are temporary residents on this earth to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.

Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors.

Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

Wow, man.

That’s amazing.

That is absolutely absolutely amazing.

He will give honor.

They will give honor to God when he judges the world.

Powerful folks.

That is awesomely powerful and mighty.

So the Lord’s day of visitation is coming very soon.

I really believe that we’re all on the brink of a breakthrough.

Seems like it’s taken that breakthrough forever to come, but it will come as long as we remain faithful to the Lord.

stay on his course, deny our flesh, and be obedient to God.

Peter tells us that we are to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against our soul.

He also tells us that there will be a day of visitation where those who mocked us will one day give glory to God.

Don’t give up and do not ever quit.

All right, let’s go to Jeremiah chapter 10.

And let’s see.

One second, guys.

All right.

I am going to start in verse 14.

The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge.

The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make for they they’re carefully shaped with works of fraud.

The idols have no breath or power.

Idols are worthless.

They are ridiculous lies.

On the day of reckoning, they will all be destroyed.

But the God of Israel is no idol.

That is so true.

He is not an idol.

He is a living God.

Every man and woman, boy, girl, whoever will stand one day before God and give account of their lives.

Now, we as believers will give a different account because our sins are forgiven and we’re welcomed into the kingdom of God.

That is called the Bema Seat of judgment where only believers will be judged by their works.

But the great white throne judgment is the judgment for those that never receive Christ.

The sea will give up instead.

Hell, every everything where people have died.

I mean, you’re talking about massive amounts of human beings.

Well, they’re dead, but you know what I mean by that.

Lord, help me.

Help me say this the right way.

But they will be eternally judged because they rejected Jesus and will give account of their life.

Telling you folks that is something something else.

He is the creator of everything that exists, including Israel, his own special possession.

Isn’t that great?

And we are his craftsmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.

He created us for his glory.

Even us Christians that are not Jewish by nature, human nature, we are grafted into the vine of Abraham.

Praise be to God.

He is the creation of everything that exists, including Israel.

The Lord of heaven’s armies is his name.

Adonai Sabaoth in Hebrew.

Adonai Sabaoth.

The God of angels armies.

Oh, I love that word.

Just imagine the amount of angels that there are.

My wife was asking for angels to come into our town and just move on every household.

Yes.

And I put my agreement with that because there is an innumerable company of angels.

The scripture tells us that.

I’ve never looked up the Greek word for that word innumerable, but that’s a good thought.

Pack your bags and prepare to leave.

The siege is about to begin.

For this is what the Lord says.

Suddenly, I will fling out all who live in this land.

I will pour great troubles upon you and la and last you will feel my anger.

My wound is severe and my grief is great.

My sickness is incurable, but I must bear it.

My home is gone.

No one is left to help me rebuild it.

My children have been taken away, and I will never see them again.

The shepherds of my people have lost their senses.

They no longer seek wisdom from the Lord.

Therefore, they fail completely and their flocks are scattered.

Listen.

Hear the testifying roar of great armies.

I’m sorry.

Listen.

Hear the terrifying roar of great armies as they roll down from the north.

The towns of Judah will be destroyed, become a haunt for jackals.

Man, I’m telling you, Lord, this is something else.

I know the Lord that our lives are not our own.

And and the Apostle Paul teaches that our lives are not our o our own.

Therefore, we’ve been bought with a price.

Therefore, glorify God in your spirit and in your soul and in your body, which belongs to the Lord.

We’re not our own anymore.

We belong to him.

So correct me Lord, but please be gentle.

Do not correct me in anger, for I will die.

I’m telling you folks.

Pour out your wrath on the nations that refuse to acknowledge you, on the peoples that do not call upon your name.

For they have devoured your people Israel, and they have devoured and consumed them, making the land a desolate wilderness.

Wow, man.

That is something else, guys.

That is something something else.

This is a dangerous place for shepherds to be like this.

How can a shepherd lead his sheep if he is blind?

Many will soon leave these shepherds and go to shepherds who will feed them and guide them.

And I’m telling you guys, there are and again I’m not putting anybody down.

I’ve got no right to judge any other servant of God.

That is God’s job, not mine.

But this is what the Lord spoke to me.

He said that many will be leaving secret churches.

Churches that don’t really preach the gospel.

They will not stand up and say that abortion is murder.

All those things they will not do it.

And the Lord spoke to me and told me that many will leave those churches and Holy Spirit will direct those who are hungry into churches where there are real and true shepherds.

That is so important, man.

I’m telling you folks, that is so very important.

We must obey the Lord.

Thank you, Jesus.

Thank you, Lord.

All right, let’s go to Luke 24.

Luke 24.

Let’s go to verse 10.

It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary, the mother of James, and several other women who told the apostles what had happened about Jesus resurrection.

But the story sounded like nonsense to the men.

Wow.

It’s it’s sad sometimes us men, you know, it’s just just a sad sad thought.

But anyway, but the story sounded like nonsense to the men, so they didn’t believe it.

However, Peter jumped up and ran to the tomb to look for himself.

Stooping, he peered in and saw the empty linen wrappings.

Then he went home again, wondering what had happened.

That same day, two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem.

And as they walked along, they were talking about everything that had happened.

And as they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them.

But God kept them from recognizing him.

Who kept them?

God did.

He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?”

They stopped short, sadness written across their faces.

Then one of them, Cleopas, responded, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard about all these things that have happened here these last two days, few days.

What things?”

Jesus asked.

the things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth.

They said, “He was a prophet.

He did powerful miracles and was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people.

But our leading priest and other religious leaders handed him over to be condemned to death and they crucified him.

We had hoped he was the Messiah and had come to rescue Israel.

This is this all happened three days ago.

Then some women from the group of his followers were at the tomb early this morning and they came back with an amazing report.

They said his body was missing and they had seen angels who told them Jesus was alive.

Some of our men ran out to see, and sure enough, his body was gone, just as the women had said.

Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people, you find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the scriptures.”

Wasn’t it clearly predicted that Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?

Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets explaining from all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey Jesus act acted as if he was going on but they begged him stay the night with us since it is getting late.

So he went home with them.

And as they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it.

Then he broke it and gave to them.

Suddenly their eyes were open.

Choked me up.

And they recognized him.

And at that moment, he disappeared.

They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as we talk?

as he talked with us on the road and explained the scriptures to us.

And with the in the hour they were on their way back to Jerusalem.

There they found the 11 disciples and the others who had gathered with them who said, “The Lord has is the the Lord has really risen.”

He appeared to Peter.

Ain’t that something?

That is something else, guys.

I’m telling you, that is amazing.

All right, let’s go to Matthew 23:13.

What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees, hypocrites?

For you shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in the people’s faces.

You won’t go in in yourselves because you don’t let others enter either.

What sorrow awaits you?

And Jesus said, “Wo, wo wo” many times to the scribes and the Pharisees.

What sorrow awaits you, teachers of religious law, and you Pharisees, hypocrites, for you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell that you yourselves are blind guides.

What sorrow awaits you?

For you say that it means nothing to swear by God’s temple, but that it is binding to swear by the gold in the temple blind fools.

Which is more important?

The gold of the temple that makes the gold sacred?

The gold or the temple that makes the gold sacred?

And you say that to swear by the altar is not binding, but to swear by the gifts on the altar is binding.

How blind.

For which is more important, the gift on the altar or the altar that makes the gift sacred.

When you swear by the altar, you are swearing by it and everything on it.

And when you swear by the temple, you are swearing by it and by God who lives in it.

When you swear by heaven, you are swearing by the throne of God and by God who sits on the throne.

Man, I’m telling you, I’m not going to read through all that to the end, but that is some amazing stuff.

It is truly amazing.

Absolutely amazing.

So Jesus speaks and utters the great woes to the scribes and Pharisees.

We We who claim to be true followers were cut down by these words that Jesus I’m sorry.

Let me read that again.

We who claim to be true followers were cut down by these words that Jesus spoke against them.

We as followers of Jesus must not must must not become religious in our Christian lives.

Religion has no real power of Holy Spirit in it.

It is vain and without purpose.

Jesus speaks about devouring widows houses.

The phrase devour widows houses means greedily cheat widows out of their property.

In ancient times, widows held little or no power in the courts.

It was not uncommon for a husband to appoint in his will a Jewish legal expert, a scribe or a Pharisee, to be the executor of his widow’s estate.

Essentially, this gave the executor authority to oversee the widow’s finances and assets.

It would not be hard for a corrupt lawyer to find legal ways to trick a widow out of her house and her property.

And that is precisely is what the religious leaders were doing.

It could be that’s why the poor widow I’m sorry.

It could be that’s why the poor widow Jesus noticed in Mark 12:42 had only two very small copper coins to give.

They were all thieves and robbers of the worst kind and they were supposed to represent the kingdom of God.

Good grief, Lord.

Great judgment would soon fall upon them.

Wow.

I’m telling you, folks.

I’m telling you.

I’m telling you.

I’m telling you.

All right, let’s go to Philippians chapter 3.

Philippians chapter 3.

And I’m going to read verses 17 and 18 out of the New King James Version.

Brethren, join in following my example and note those who so walk as you have for us a pattern or an example.

For many walk of whom I’ve told you often and now tell you even weeping that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ.

And and you know that’s really sad.

I don’t want to be called an enemy of the cross.

But what do my works prove?

What does my lifestyle prove that’s behind this camera?

What does it prove?

That’s a hardy question, isn’t it?

We want to be those who end well.

For those of us who are up in years, we must be in constant remembrance of these things.

We must obey the word and the voice of God.

You know, folks, think about that.

We all need to think about that because none of us have a promise of tomorrow.

We could go to bed tonight and not wake up in the morning.

Are we truly ready to meet the Lord?

Are you ready?

Are you truly praying in revival?

Do you really want to see the power of God manifested in your city or your town?

How much do you want it?

Telling you folks.

It’s a sad state of affairs.

It really is.

Let’s be honest with the Lord and cry out to him for mercy.

Let’s pray.

Lord God, we cry out to you right now for mercy upon each and every one of us.

Lord, we cry out to you that you would change us and make us be the men and women of God that you desire us to be.

Lord, cut out the parts that are lacking.

Take away from us a wayward heart, a heart that does not desire evil and wickedness.

Take it away, Lord.

Cut it out from us, Lord.

We want to serve you and we want to be obedient to you.

Thank you, Father.

Your name will be glorified in our lives.

Jesus, holy name, have your way in us Jesus.

Lord, we need you desperately.

Jesus name.

Amen.

Amen.

And amen.

And amen.

Thank you, Lord.

All right, the last note I’m going to read to you.

The American Culture and Faith Institute interviewed churches across America.

The American Culture and Faith Institute.

They asked basic questions of doctrine.

What’s Jesus?

Was Jesus born of a virgin?

Did he live I’m sorry.

Did he live in a semblance of God’s word?

Is Satan real?

And did Jesus die for our sins?

Now listen to this.

70% of the churches interviewed did not line up or agree with the basic doctrines of the Bible.

What?

Think about it.

Only 2% of the churches in America are actually preaching the true doctrines of the Bible.

We definitely need revival and visitation from the Lord God.

Please folks, pray for revival each and every day.

Be prepared to be used by the Lord.

Amen.

And amen.

The Lord will bless you.

Now, I want to pray for you if you’re watching this video today.

Maybe you’ve never seen me before, but the most important thing is the question that I need to ask you.

Do you really and truly know the Lord Jesus Christ?

Do you know him?

Are you willing to give the entirety of your life to him as Lord, Savior, and Master?

Are you willing to lay it down at his seat?

Because you never know when your last breath might be, but you must be prepared.

Okay.

So, if you want to invite the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart, pray this prayer with me.

Say, “Lord God, I believe in my heart of hearts that you sent your son Jesus to die for me.”

He hung on that cross, had nails driven into his hands and his feet, and cried out from that cross, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.”

Lord, please forgive me.

Please forgive me for everything, every sin that I’ve ever committed, every unlawful deed or trespass that I’ve made against you.

Forgive me for my unbelief.

Jesus, come into my heart.

I want my name to be written in the Lamb’s book of life.

And I want you to save me, Lord.

I ask you to save me and deliver me from all of my sin.

Thank you, Lord.

Thank you so much.

I receive your salvation and I receive my home in heaven.

Jesus, cleanse me with your precious shed blood and wash me clean of my sin nature.

I want to be born again.

Make me new, Lord.

make me new in Jesus’ name I pray.

Amen.

If you just prayed that prayer with me, glory be to God.

Your name is now written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Jesus is the Lamb of God that was slain for you and me.

That’s why it’s called the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Let God have his way in your life.

Live for him now.

Find yourself a really good church wherever you live, whatever country you’re in.

Find a really good church and get yourself a Bible that you can start studying the Word of God.

You can’t really know the Lord without knowing his word.

So have let God have his way with your life.

Amen.
