Flock Safety will lose one of its largest camera networks in Virginia after Henrico County decided to remove 122 cameras.
The Henrico County Police Division will terminate its contract with Flock, citing privacy concerns.
“We believe that this is the right time to do this, given what’s going on with Flock in regards to data collection, data access, and privacy issues,” said Board of Supervisors Chair Roscoe D. Cooper III, according to WAVY.
According to the outlet, Flock will receive a letter from the county saying the contract will terminate in seven days.
Once the contract is terminated, Flock Safety will have two weeks to remove the 122-camera network.

“While we are confident that Henrico Police has used ALPR data appropriately for legitimate law-enforcement purposes only, we cannot ignore the potential for misuse of system data by others,” Cooper said, according to WHRO.
“Ending this contract is the right thing to do for our residents and community,” Cooper added.
