Actress Selma Blair was arrested and hospitalized after allegedly punching a flight attendant, biting another, and trying to open the plane door during a Delta Air Lines flight.
According to TMZ, the plane was already midair on Sunday, on its way to John F. Kennedy International Airport, when the 54-year-old actress tried to open the door. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed to the Washington Examiner that it responded to Delta Flight 938 around 11 p.m. Sunday, which had arrived at JFK from Los Angeles.
Two flight attendants reported injuries, and one was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Blair was also taken to the hospital.
TMZ obtained dispatch audio where officials requested medical treatment for a bloody nose and bite marks.
“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct,” a representative for Blair told TMZ. “Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”
The FBI confirmed it was investigating the incident.
A Delta spokesperson told TMZ: “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.”
In 2016, witnesses told TMZ that Blair was removed from a flight on a stretcher after an outburst, according to the Associated Press.
