President Trump spent part of his weekend at Camp David doing what millions of Americans would love to do: working on his golf game with one of the sport’s biggest stars.
The president shared a short video Sunday showing him taking a smooth, powerful cut while two-time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau stood nearby.
President Trump kept the caption simple: “Hitting balls with Bryson D.”

The Gateway Pundit reported that DeChambeau joined President Trump at Camp David for the weekend and that golf legend Gary Player was also present.
That is an extraordinary amount of championship knowledge around one practice session. DeChambeau owns two U.S. Open titles, while Player is one of the most accomplished golfers in the history of the game.
President Trump has played golf for decades and still brings plenty of speed through the ball. The clip is brief, but the balance and follow-through tell the story: this was not a ceremonial appearance for the cameras.
The video appeared on the president’s Truth Social account Sunday, after the Camp David gathering had already drawn attention. Its five-word caption made clear that DeChambeau and President Trump had gone to the practice area together and put in some work.
The report also placed the session in the middle of a busy presidential weekend. President Trump returned to the White House on Saturday evening after cutting his Camp David stay short amid a State Department security alert involving the Middle East. Even with that schedule, he found time to work on his swing alongside two men who know championship golf as well as anyone alive.
The Camp David gathering became public after DeChambeau was seen traveling with the president’s party back to Washington:
The New York Post reported that DeChambeau and Gary Player were among the guests at Camp David. DeChambeau later arrived at the White House aboard Marine One with President Trump’s group.
Photographs showed DeChambeau seated inside the presidential helicopter with President Trump during the return trip to Washington. The golfer was then seen leaving the aircraft on the South Lawn, turning a private weekend round into a very public glimpse of the friendship between the president and one of the game’s biggest current stars.
Player’s presence added another generation of golf history to the gathering. The South African legend won nine major championships and remains one of the sport’s most celebrated global ambassadors.
Between Player’s experience and DeChambeau’s modern power game, President Trump had no shortage of elite advice available.
The weekend also reflects a relationship that now extends well beyond the golf course.
The White House lists DeChambeau as chairman of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. President Trump revived the Presidential Fitness Test this year and placed the champion golfer at the center of the effort to get young Americans moving again.
The administration highlighted DeChambeau’s role when the council gathered at the White House in May:
DeChambeau has become one of golf’s most recognizable personalities by treating the swing like a science experiment and chasing every possible advantage in speed, equipment and technique.
President Trump, meanwhile, has long used golf as both competition and fellowship. A weekend with DeChambeau and Player offered the chance to enjoy both at the highest level.
And judging by the video, the president was not interested in merely watching the professionals hit balls.
He stepped up, took his own swing and showed that he can still stripe one.
