A Fort Worth man is facing criminal charges for allegedly sending multiple violent threats to Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico.
According to an arrest affidavit, Billy James McFatridge is charged with terroristic threat against a public servant.
Prosecutors allege that McFatridge sent the violent threats against the Texas state representative through online accounts traced back to him.
CBS Austin shared further:
“Every political figure receives all sorts of strange communications, including threats, and those who are controversial tend to get even more threats,” said Park Dietz, founder and president of Threat Assessment Group, according to CBS Austin.
Talarico faces Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a highly anticipated race for a critical U.S. Senate seat.
President Trump’s primary super PAC, MAGA Inc., recently poured $10 million into the race to boost Paxton.
