The Hill shared further:

Warner has served in the upper chamber since 2009 and is the vice chairman of the Senate’s Select Committee on Intelligence. The incumbent is also a vice chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus.

The Democrat previously served as governor of Old Dominion State from 2002-2006. A Republican has not been elected to the Senate in the state since 2002.

Warner is the wealthiest Democratic senator, per Investopedia, with a net worth of over $200 million. Before entering politics, he was a venture capitalist and tech entrepreneur.
