Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico — who has spent years parroting the left’s insane gender ideology — is now desperately trying to take back some ridiculous past comments he’s made on the subject.
As you may recall, Talarico once stated that there are “six genders.”
But, now that the election’s coming up, he’s backpedaling.
In a recent
Fox News interview, Talarico said that he no longer believes there are six sexes and affirmed that there are only two.
Watch for yourself:
JUST NOW: A panicked James Talarico is BACKTRACKING his comments that there are 6 genders
Nope, TOO LATE! Texas won't buy it!
Q: Do you still believe that?

James Talarico made his original remark about there being “six biological sexes” back in 2021 during a Texas House Public Education Committee hearing on transgender athletes in school sports.
For reference, here’s the original clip:
But now, in addition to admitting that there are only two sexes, Talarico says he’s changed his mind about transgender athletes.
During the same
Fox News interview, James Talarico was asked for his stance on biological men who believe they are the opposite gender competing in women’s sports.
Watch his answer here:
"I oppose trans athletes playing in girls sports if it endangers safety or fairness."

Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico is changing his tune on biological men in women’s sports.
Pressed by Fox News’ @Brooketaylortv
on where he stands, Talarico said he would oppose trans athletes competing in girls’ sports if it poses a risk to safety and fairness — a notable shift for a candidate who once claimed there were “six” biological sexes and said “God is nonbinary.”
He has since said he knows there are two sexes and acknowledged some of his past comments “missed the mark.”
With the midterms right around the corner, Talarico’s sudden switch is
very convenient, don’t you think?
He knows he doesn’t stand a chance in Texas pushing extreme leftist gender ideologies, so he’s trying to do damage control.
Unfortunately for him, nobody’s buying it.
Take a look at some of these replies from folks on X:
“Missed the mark”??? Even if blind you can’t “miss” that target. It’s two. Always has and will forever be. Idiot. Fooling not a soul

nope too late for the damage control because you already showed everyone exactly what you believe, trying to walk it back now just makes you look weak and dishonest to both sides tbh

Talarico’s comments during his
Fox News interview also do not reflect his voting record…
This is the same guy who has consistently voted in favor of transgender athletes and gender operations for kids!
Grok provided an overview of his voting record on transgender issues since he started serving in the Texas House:
James Talarico’s record on transgender issues (Texas House):
- Trans sports: Voted against 2021 bills requiring K-12 and college athletes to compete according to biological sex (not gender identity). These “Save Women’s Sports” measures passed and became law.
- Opposed them strongly in speeches (including the “God is nonbinary” remarks).
- Supported failed amendments to narrow the bills (e.g., more local control).
- In 2026 campaign statements: Opposes biological males in girls’/women’s sports if it risks safety or fairness; called earlier bills overly broad.
- Medical transitions for minors: Voted against 2023 SB 14, which banned certain surgeries, puberty blockers, and cross-sex hormones for those under 18. The bill passed and became law.
- Criticized it at the time as discriminatory.
- Supported failed amendments to limit it more narrowly (e.g., surgeries only, exceptions for intersex conditions).
- In 2026 statements: Opposes gender-reassignment surgeries for minors and would support a national ban; says the Texas bill went too far beyond that.
Overall pattern: Consistently voted against Republican-led restrictions while in the Legislature; has moderated public positions during the 2026 Senate race.
What are your thoughts?
Do you believe James Talarico is being genuine about his sudden change of heart?
