Well, this is certainly a new one…
A notorious woman known as “Tan Mom” claims that she was targeted by ICE because of her dark skin tone.
During a recent episode of her ‘Light Tan Up’ podcast, she said that she was stopped by ICE agents at a restaurant who questioned her citizenship status.
“Because I was so tan, they were about to handcuff me! And take me away!” she exclaimed,
“God knows where cuz once you get in those trucks you don’t know where you’re going anymore and I was scared but I held my own and I got out of the situation.”
She then went on to bash the Trump administration and declare that ICE agents are
“very racist about color and nationalities.”
Watch:
Woman claims she was approached by ICE and asked if she was an American citizen because she had such a dark tan.
"Because I was so tan, they were about to handcuff me… and take me away, God knows where…" Patricia Krentcil said on the Light. Tan. Up. show.
Area 51, maybe?

This woman’s real name is Patricia Krentcil, and she has quite a reputation.
Krentcil first went viral in 2012 for her extreme addiction to tanning.
That year, she got into trouble with the law for allegedly bringing her five-year-old daughter to a tanning bed.
The New York Post has more on her background:
In April 2012, Krentcil was arrested and charged with second-degree child endangerment after her daughter arrived at school with sunburns.
Charges were dropped the following February when an Essex County grand jury refused to indict her.
The extreme tanning buff has since become a podcast host herself and now lives in — where else? — the Sunshine State.
Years after that fiasco, Krentcil decided to try her hand at politics.
She ran to unseat Republican Sen. Rick Scott in the 2024 election, but ended up withdrawing from the race.
Per
The Mary Sue via Yahoo News:
Notably, Krentcil is a Republican and has even tried her hand at politics. Per Ballotpedia, Krentcil entered the race for the U.S. Senate in Florida, challenging fellow Republican and incumbent Senator Rick Scott in the 2024 general election. She eventually failed to make the ballot for the Republican primary.
Krentcil’s campaign included protecting LGBTQ rights by “ensuring all people are treated fairly and equally, including drag queen performers.” She also wanted to enact legislation that would protect high educational and historical value books, as well as put forth tax breaks for working moms and families.
Many folks aren’t buying Krentcil’s tall tale about nearly being detained by ICE because of her tan.
Take a look at some of these replies:

@CollinRugg It’s more believable that they pulled her over for a mental wellness check.

@CollinRugg They probably approached her to ask her if she was ok. She looks like she got hit by Willy Wonka’s chocolate machine.

What do you think?
Is there any chance she’s telling the truth?
