Once you couldn’t trust the legacy media any less, enter the Fauci diary and its entries during the COVID-19 years.
It appears that members of the legacy press really loved having access to Dr. Anthony Fauci and that Fauci is a patent narcissist.
“Big front page article about me appeared in the Washington Post,” he wrote in 2020. “Very flattering. The situation with my national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable.”
“It is not hyperbole to say that today I am the most famous and talked about person in the country and one of the most recognizable peson in the world,” he continued. “Countless profiles on me in multiple media. I cannot even read all the things that are written abuyt me since I am so busy … seriously. POTUS seems to be enamored of me even though I am taking the spotlight away from him.”
Fauci also revealed how fake those broadcast and print journalists are.
CNN’s Jake Tapper, who is as condescending as anyone in this business in lecturing others about being unbiased and truthful, repeatedly crossed the line from journalism to activism with Fauci.
“Had dinner over Jake Tapper and Jen Tapper’s home in DC,” he wrote in 2020. “Terrific couple. Friendship building.”
“Friendship building.” Because that’s totally what a national news anchor and a frequent guest should engage in, right? Fauci and his false statements, including his assertion that COVID-19 originated in a Wuhan wet market, should have been scrutinized and questioned appropriately. Tapper never did that. He instead allowed Fauci an open forum to present his questionable opinions as fact.
“After my Laura Ingraham hit, Jake Tapper (CNN) texted me saying sarcastically, ‘Hard to believe Paura Ingraham went to Dartmouth, isn’t it. All of us alumni are very proud,'” Fauci wrote while sharing verbatim a spelling-challenged text from Tapper after he appeared on Fox News.
As for that dinner at the Tapper residence? That was held during a federally mandated quarantine.
The bromance between Tapper and Fauci only grew as the pandemic wore on, per Fauci.
“Phone call with Jake Tapper,” his entry reads. “Jake wanted to make sure the interview did not cause me any problems.”
This kind of behavior used to get someone like Tapper fired. He wanted to make sure “the interview did not cause me any problems”? How can this stand?

“Brett Giroir on Tapper (State of the Union) talking bulls*** about testing with Jake pressing him,” Fauci continued. “I gave Jake some questions to ask him. Mark Meadows on This Week with George Stephanopoulos saying that public health measures are not working and we will have to rely on interventions such as vaccines and therapeutics.”
Here we have an anchor on CNN accepting questions from a government official on what to ask a sitting president’s chief of staff at that time, in an effort to make him look bad.
Exhibit B on the list is CNN’s Dana Bash. She has also long portrayed herself as a journalist seeking truth without fear or favor. But as the Fauci diaries reveal, she too acted as a political operative.
In April 2021, after Fauci battled Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) during a House hearing at the time, Fauci wrote in his diary that Bash texted him to tell him he was the “better man” while relaying that no one would blame him if he had to tell Jordan “to go f*** yourself.” Bash texted Fauci again the next day to gleefully share a Vanity Fair headline mocking Jordan.
“I received a text from Dana Bash pointing out that Vanity Fair recently had a headline that said: Jim Jordan trips over his own a**hole trying to debate Anthony Fauci,” Fauci wrote in April of 2021.
Compare this with what CNN President Mark Thompson wrote in a statement after the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, where President Donald Trump roasted several CNN anchors, including Tapper.
“We stand by our journalists and the integrity and fairmindedness with which the CNN team reports the news,” Thompson said. “Honest, accurate journalism may sometimes irritate politicians, but our right to report and present that reporting to the public without government interference is fully protected by the US Constitution. CNN will continue to exercise this right.”
CNN worked hand-in-glove with Fauci, making this statement from Thompson age like milk in a sauna.
Exhibit C is ABC chief anchor George Stephanopoulos, who felt compelled to text Fauci after he brushed off a retweet from Trump calling him a fraud.
“On GMA, George Stephanopoulos brought up that the POTUS has retweeted a tweet from a Breitbart based group that said that I was misleading the American public and that I was a fraud,” Fauci wrote. “George asked me to respond and I blew it off saying that I do not tweet or even read tweets. After the interview, George texted me saying, ‘Thank you, Tony. So impressive.’”
“This is not getting the coverage it deserves,” Fox’s Brit Hume wrote on X. “Is that because so many media luminaries were so chummy with the man at the center of a major medical controversy?”
Unsurprisingly, there has been a total blackout on ABC and CNN over coverage of the Fauci diaries.
THE REAL AND LASTING HARM OF FAUCI’S EGO
Heads need to roll over this. But it won’t happen.
Trust in the media is in the single digits among Republican voters. The fact that it’s even above zero is a small miracle upon hearing tales like this.
