ELECTION SABOTAGE? Democrat Operatives Recruited FAKE “Dan Sullivan” to Confuse Alaska Voters

When Alaskans head to the polls this November, they’re going to see two Republican Senate candidates named Dan Sullivan on the ballot.

According to a new report from the New York Times, that was no mistake.

It turns out that Democrat operatives intentionally sought out another Dan Sullivan in the state who would agree to put his name on the ballot for the sole purpose of confusing Republican voters.

They eventually found their candidate in Dan J. Sullivan — a retired teacher who is running against incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan despite making little attempt to campaign.

Now, both Dan Sullivans (along with a third Republican candidate) are pitted against a single Democrat candidate, Mary Peltola.

Collin Rugg explained how the scheme apparently worked:

JUST IN: Democrat operatives spent months finding Alaskans with the same name as Republican Dan Sullivan so they could confuse voters and help Mary Peltola (D), according to The New York Times.

A staffer was tasked with finding every voter named “Dan Sullivan” in the state and then contacting them and coaxing them to run for Senate.

The plan worked when a man named “Dan J. Sullivan,” a retired teacher from a small fishing village that can only be reached by air or ocean, announced he was running.

He has held no campaign events, has given very few interviews, and has voted for Democrats in the past.

As The Times reported, the Peltola campaign claims it had no involvement in recruiting “Dan J. Sullivan”; however, documents suggest the campaign was actively involved and that the operation was “much broader.”

“The endeavor, which was internally called the ballot composition project, involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs,” the NYT reports.

Peltola was reportedly “definitely aware” of what was going on, according to Peltola’s former campaign manager Elisa Rios.

Alaska is expected to be one of the closest elections this cycle, and as of now, Peltola is the only Democrat, while there are two Dan Sullivans and another republican named Gerald Heikes, who was also allegedly recruited to take votes from Senator Sullivan.

The New York Times reports that they have evidence from *12 people* who participated in the plot.

These communists will do something like this and then tell you they are defending democracy.

Now, the Peltola campaign claims they had nothing to do with the plot to confuse Alaskan voters by putting a second “Dan Sullivan” on the ballot.

But, the NYT says otherwise…

Here’s an excerpt from the original New York Times report:

In the summer of 2025, a staffer for Mary Peltola, the Alaska Democrat who was eyeing a run for Senate, received unusual instructions from top campaign aides: Find as many people named Dan Sullivan in Alaska as you can.

The staffer complied, combing through voter records to produce a list of Dan Sullivans from across the state.

This was no random request. Dan S. Sullivan is the name of the state’s Republican senator. And if the Peltola campaign or its allies could track down and persuade another Dan Sullivan to run for Senate, the confusion could cost the senator crucial votes on the state’s unusual, four-person ballot.

The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan.

The Peltola campaign has repeatedly denied any involvement in his candidacy. But The Times has found, based on interviews and text messages, along with documents prepared for a potential lawsuit against the campaign, that not only did Ms. Peltola’s team work with people trying to recruit Mr. Sullivan to run for Senate, but the effort was much broader. The group worked to coax other would-be spoilers into the race, to dilute the incumbent’s support and help catapult the Democrat to victory.

The endeavor, which was internally called the ballot composition project, involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.

It also involved the Peltola campaign’s lawyers, as well as senior aides at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which directs the party’s campaign strategy in Senate races across the country. From Washington to Anchorage, those advisers participated in regular conversations about the effort and even considered forming a new political party to draw conservatives onto the ballot.

Ballot-stacking tactics are common in politics and generally considered legal — and have been employed by both parties in Alaska. But this operation, which has not been reported before, reveals the lengths to which Democrats went to seek advantage in a Senate race that could determine control of the chamber.

“Alaskan voters need to know,” said Elisa Rios, Ms. Peltola’s former campaign manager and longtime aide, who was fired amid a staff shake-up in August, and agreed to a series of interviews with The Times since then. “There was a lot of speculation, and voters should get the full picture when making their decisions.”

Ms. Peltola was not directly involved in the project, Ms. Rios said, but she was “definitely aware.”

The operation had impact. On Tuesday, Ms. Peltola will be the only Democrat on the ballot, facing off against the two Mr. Sullivans and a long-shot candidate named Gerald Heikes who was also recruited into the race, according to The Times’s reporting. Polls give Ms. Peltola a strong chance of winning.

The Justice Department, meanwhile, filed a lawsuit in federal court at President Trump’s behest last week seeking to block certification of the election results if votes for the other Mr. Sullivan cost Senator Sullivan the win.

Both the Peltola campaign and the D.S.C.C. denied participating in efforts to recruit spoilers to the ballot in Alaska. Neither group addressed a detailed list of questions provided by The Times.

“The Alaskans for Mary campaign has no involvement with either Sullivan campaign and did not recruit any candidates into the race,” the campaign wrote in a statement.

In light of this revelation, many folks are calling for Peltola to drop out of the race — including President Trump.

In a series of Truth Social posts, President Trump called what Democrats are doing in Alaska a cut-and-dry case of “ELECTION FRAUD.”

Read what he had to say here:

It has just been determined that the Democrats in Alaska illegally searched for, and recruited, a man named Dan Sullivan to run against our distinguished Republican Senator, Dan Sullivan, in order to defraud, confuse, and obfuscate the Election, thereby taking votes away from the REAL Senator, Dan Sullivan. The New York Times reports that, “Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska’s Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run — as well as other candidates.” The Democrats’ false statements were made under oath in Federal Court. Therefore, they perjured themselves, and should be liable for very serious consequences. Mary Peltola should suffer the Legal and Political consequences for what she has done, A FRAUD ON THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, and Dan Sullivan should be allowed to run without either Mary Peltola or FAKE Dan Sullivan on the Ballot. President DONALD J. TRUMP

In Alaska, I don’t think Mary Peltola, after perpetrating such a terrible scheme, should be allowed to run, because this is ELECTION FRAUD. The Democrats cheated! They found a man named Dan Sullivan, put him on the Ballot, then lied to the Court, and said they didn’t know anything about it. That’s perjury. She shouldn’t be allowed to run, and neither should the FAKE Dan Sullivan! President DONALD J. TRUMP

While speaking to reporters about the issue, President Trump doubled down.

He also offered rare praise for the New York Times for exposing the scheme.

Watch:

🚨
HOLY CRAP! President Trump demands Mary Peltola (D) "RESIGN FROM THE RACE" for Alaska US Senate and be "CRIMINALLY PROSECUTED" after the fake Dan Sullivan ballot scheme

"They should be prosecuted. THAT'S VOTER FRAUD."

The DOJ is already taking legal action.

During an appearance on Fox News, Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed that this could qualify as election cheating.

JUST IN: AG Blanche says Democrats are FLAT OUT CHEATING in Alaska by fielding a candidate with the SAME NAME as the incumbent Dan Sullivan to CONFUSE voters

What do you think?

Should the Democrats behind the ploy to confuse voters with a decoy “Dan Sullivan” be held accountable?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

Also, if you happen to be voting in Alaska — be sure to select Dan S. Sullian NOT Dan J. Sullivan when filling out your ballot!
