DOJ Launches Investigation Into GOP Congressman: Report

Todd-Blanche-.jpg

Republican Rep. Cory Mills is under active criminal investigation by the Department of Justice, adding to the legal scrutiny already surrounding the Florida congressman.

A source familiar with the matter told Fox News that the DOJ is investigating Mills, though the specifics of the probe remain unknown.

The Florida Republican, who serves on the House Armed Services and House Intelligence committees, is also the subject of an ongoing House Ethics Committee investigation into allegations involving campaign finance violations, sexual misconduct and dating violence.

The ethics inquiry follows multiple allegations against Mills, including claims of domestic abuse stemming from a February 2025 incident and a separate allegation from July 2025 that he threatened to release explicit images of a romantic partner in what has been described as a blackmail case.

Rep. Cory Mills

Mills has denied any wrongdoing and has not been charged with a crime.

The House Ethics Committee said in April that its investigation, which began in November 2025, remains ongoing. At the time, the panel said its review involves allegations of “sexual misconduct and/or dating violence.”

The committee has not said when it expects to complete the investigation.

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., also moved to expel Mills from Congress in April.

Her resolution accuses the Florida Republican of misrepresenting his military service, engaging in sexual misconduct, violating campaign finance laws and improperly benefiting from federal contracts while serving in Congress, among other allegations.

Mills was first elected to the House in 2022 and won re-election in 2024. He is seeking a third term this November.
