BREAKING: Longtime Host Maria Bartiromo Departs Fox News

This is some surprising news.

After over a dozen years with Fox News, beloved host Maria Bartiromo is out at the network.

The pro-Trump news anchor was a staple on the network, hosting multiple shows including ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ on Fox and ‘Mornings with Maria’ on Fox Business.

Fox News announced her departure suddenly on Thursday, without giving any explanation as to why Bartiromo is leaving.

The full Fox News statement reads:

FOX NEWS MEDIA PARTS WAYS WITH MARIA BARTIROMO

NEW YORK — September 2, 2026 — Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media.

In making the announcement, FOX News Media said, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”

Prior to joining Fox News thirteen years ago, Maria Bartiromo covered Wall Street for CNBC.

Forbes reported further on her career:

Bartiromo’s show on Fox Business, Mornings with Maria (which aired Thursday morning) will become Mornings with Fox Business starting Friday, with a cast of rotating anchors. Bartiromo’s Fox Business show Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street (Fridays, 7-7:30 p.m. ET) will become FBN’s Wall Street Week starting tomorrow, hosted by Cheryl Casone and featuring a series of rotating anchors in the weeks that follow.

Bartiromo also hosted a Fox News Channel show, Sunday Morning Futures (10-11 a.m. ET) that will be helmed this weekend by Jason Chaffetz. The network says a permanent host will be named later.

The timing of the exit–coming just hours after Bartiromo was in her usual spot on Mornings with Maria, and being announced without explanation, signals a quick decision by the network to cut ties with a high profile anchor. Bartiromo made her name anchoring on CNBC, where she covered Wall Street for 20 years.

It’s unclear if Maria Bartiromo is retiring or what the next steps of her career will be.

We also don’t know if she resigned or if Fox News made the decision to cut her for some reason.

If she was let go, then that’s a real shame.

But, on the contrary, some folks are speculating that Maria might be leaving TV to step up into a much bigger role soon…
