People often make statements on social media, only to get stung by a sharp retort, or someone delivering the facts.
Hillary Clinton did away with the need for a response, stinging herself this week.
It erupted in her dispute with President Donald Trump over his well-documented antipathy for the legacy media that pushed the Democrat lies, some from Clinton herself, about that so-called “Russiagate” during the 2016 election.
That conspiracy theory pushed falsehoods that Trump’s campaign somehow was conspiring with Russia, which didn’t happen.
Trump took the attitude that those media players were “fake news” and has really never relented.
The media, of course, has taken the position that Trump is a threat to their country and it is their duty to try to hound him out of office.
Out of that came his recent decision to ban a couple of far-left organizations from the White House, a decision they took to court and were handed a temporary reprieve.
Clinton’s comment followed:
“Kicking out the free press is what fragile authoritarians do. Not American presidents,” she said.
The Gateway Pundit noted that Clinton turns off “comments” on social media so others cannot respond to her.
But “that did not stop X from hitting her with a devastating reminder of [how] she really thinks of the free media. X’s Community Notes noted that Hillary Clinton once called for killing independent journalist Julian Assange in a drone strike.”
In a procedure where “readers” add context to social media claims, the submission said, “Hillary Clinton suggested the U.S. should kill the prominent journalist Julian Assange through a drone strike.”
Her words were: “Can’t we just drone this guy?”

The report explained, “State Department sources” revealed, “The statement drew laughter from the room which quickly died off when the Secretary kept talking in a terse manner, sources said. Clinton said Assange, after all, was a relatively soft target, ‘walking around’ freely and thumbing his nose without any fear of reprisals from the United States.”
