AOC is going all in on the Michigan Senate race.

On Thursday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced she will be transferring $1 million from her campaign to Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

AOC made the announcement during a campaign event for El-Sayed.

As she made the announcement, the lawmaker from New York Stated, “So I’m not talking about it. I’m being about it,”

The New York Post reported where the funds from AOC originated from:

Democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is funneling $1 million to left-wing Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, further establishing herself as a progressive power broker ahead of the 2026 midterms as part of the closely watched Michigan race.

“I will be transferring from our campaign in New York one million dollars to the state of Michigan to help support you all,” Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) told supporters at an event while stumping for El-Sayed in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on Thursday.

“So I’m not talking about it — I’m being about it,” she said. The $1 million donation will be made to Abdul for Michigan Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Michigan Democratic State Central Committee.

AOC was the top fundraiser in the House last year, with $23.5 million raised from deep-pocketed donors both in and outside of New York.

Currently, she’s got more than $17 million cash on hand in her principal campaign committee.

The “Squad” congresswoman, who is rumored to be eyeing a 2028 Senate challenge against Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) or a White House run, endorsed El-Sayed in July before he defeated Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) in the Michigan Democratic primary contest.

Here’s the moment she made the announcement:

Rep. Ayanna Pressley praised AOC for pitching into El-Sayed’s campaign and threw a jab at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee for not financially helping El-Sayed’s campaign enough:

Rep. Ayanna Pressley in MI just praised AOC for the $1 million — and ripped DSCC.

“The DSCC should take note because it is shameful that we are not seeing an equitable investment in progressive and diverse candidates like Abdul El-Sayed, like Angie Nixon, like Scott Colom.” https://t.co/idYpQeHvYx pic.twitter.com/QVRs8gOh1e

Bridge Michigan reported El-Sayed made a fundraising record last quarter:

Democratic US Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed raised the most money of any candidate in Michigan history last quarter.

The $30.7 million reported by El-Sayed’s campaign was three times as much as the $9.7 million raised by Republican Mike Rogers, an advantage diminished by heavy outside spending in the race by GOP-aligned groups.

The race is now far-and-away the most expensive election in Michigan’s history, with more than $270 million in disclosed spending to date, not counting additional undisclosed “dark money” spending. That’s up from $217 million in disclosed spending in Rogers’ 2024 race against US Sen. Elissa Slotkin.

Democrats in competitive US House races also reported out-fundraising their Republican counterparts in the latest reporting period, which covered donations between July 16 and Sept. 30.

Rogers’ fundraising haul of $9.7 million was the most he’s raised in a quarter across two US Senate campaigns but was easily eclipsed by the $30.7 million El-Sayed raised.

Rogers spent less too, however, and ended the period with $6.5 million in the bank, more than the $3.8 million in reserves reported by El-Sayed.
