Conservative podcaster Alex Jones called for President Donald Trump‘s impeachment over the war in Iran and looming threat of a draft for the war.
“This is a war. They’re getting the draft ready,” Jones said in a clip of his live show posted to X. “If this isn’t a war, nothing’s a war. I mean, this is absolutely out of control. And so I’m calling for it right now: 25th Amendment, impeachment, whatever needs to happen to get this front and center, to get control of our country.”
Jones has sparred with Trump over the Iran war since the United States and Israel first launched their joint attacks on the Islamic regime in late February. The president publicly called out Jones over his criticism of the war, along with other conservative influencers such as Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly.
“This is a disaster,” Jones said. “We are facing tyranny, but the public’s awakening. We’ve got to come together and transcend left and right. And we have to say no to an expanded war that will definitely destroy the economy, kill a bunch of our troops.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt had addressed the notions of troops on-site in Iran and a draft for the war in March. She said in the March 8 interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo, “Trump wisely does not remove options off of the table.”
The conservative commentator amped up his criticism of the president in April after Trump posted on Truth Social, threatening that Iran’s “whole civilization will die tonight,” a threat that did not materialize but drew criticism from across the political spectrum. Jones posted on X then that Trump sounded “like an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie.”
Trump took aim at Jones, Carlson, Kelly, and Candice Owens in a Truth Social post in April. Trump called each of the influencers “Low IQ” and spoke to Jones’s legal battles.
Pursuant to a 2025 court order, Jones owes $1.4 billion in damages to the families of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting for falsely claiming the mass shooting was a hoax.

Trump called him “Bankrupt Alex Jones, who says some of the dumbest things, and lost his entire fortune, as he should have, for his horrendous attack on the families of the Sandy Hook shooting victims, ridiculously claiming it was a hoax.”
The satirical news platform The Onion announced in April it reached a deal to acquire Infowars, Jones’s former platform.
