Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, has expressed alarm over evidence that confirms “aides” and “interpreters” have been accompanying Somali immigrants into voting booths to “help” them vote.
And the Department of Justice now is looking into the scheme.
A report at the Daily Mail confirmed Collins expressed being “troubled” by the situation, including the fact that the “aides” could very well be telling the immigrants for whom to vote.
“Certainly only Americans should be voting in American elections. It is troubling to me if people are being accompanied into voting booths and handling ballots in a way that is not sanctioned by law,” she said.
Allegations are that multiple “aides” have been helping individuals, even though state law allows only one person to assist.
The allegations that Somali translators were helping migrants vote were put forward by The Maine Wire, which claimed to witness several elderly Somali people being ushered through polling places.
According to reporters at the polling booths, the translators are known to escort voters, run buses from housing complexes to polls, and allegedly instruct them on how to vote, the report charged.
Lewison, where the events were filmed, has one of the highest Somali populations in New England.
Reports also confirmed the DOJ was reviewing footage of the concerning events.
“Maine law says translators cannot approach unasked, cannot influence the choice, and cannot touch the ballot,” reports confirmed.
DOJ is reviewing the Lewiston City Hall footage that shows Somali NGO translators walking non-English-speaking voters through the process and, in some cases, handling the ballots themselves. Maine law says translators cannot approach unasked, cannot influence the choice, and cannot touch the ballot. The same groups have been filmed dropping people off at the hall while a translator stays with them. That is not neutral assistance. It is the pipeline operating inside the polling place. The same community produces the clips of people who have been here long enough to collect benefits openly mocking the Americans who work so they can stay home. Catch the ones on the footage. Charge the ones who broke the translator rules. Send the ones who treat the country as a free ride back where they came from. The investigation is the start. The rest is enforcement. (

The Department of Justice is investigating CCTV video from Lewiston City Hall that appears to show dozens of instances of NGO workers — operating as “interpreters” — coaching illiterate Somalis on how to vote and even filling out ballots for them. The video is shocking.

Polling places in Maine are reportedly providing translators so Somali-speaking voters can cast their ballots. America, make it make sense.

Somali translators are at the polling stations in Maine and they are allegedly directing people on how to vote They are even approaching Somali who don’t ask for a translator. The poll workers are asking them not to help those who don’t request help, but they don’t listen. They approach the voters anyway First off, of course we have to assume that this is voter fraud and they are directing people on how to vote. I’m sure in some way they are linked to Democrat funded NGOs But one of the other things is WHY does anyone voting in America need a translator??? What are we even doing in this country There are also documented videos of NGOs bringing groups of Somali voters to Lewiston City Hall for early voting It’s going to be rigged
